As some of you have seen, I sold my 17 for an Audi. The second the new body style is available for order, I will be right there and finally get my car and truck stable. Anyone have any clue?

I'd guess possibly 2020, but more likely 2021. It kind of fits the '00-'06, 07-'13, '14-?? trend. Here's hoping it's something that bridges the gap between us and the creature comforts of the Big 3.

Someone on here said recently that he did a tour at the assembly plant and they confirmed 2021 model (typically the end of 2020).

They provide those comforts on other cheaper vehicles standard, so I'm not sure why not on these trucks.

No one knows for sure, and I doubt posting another “gen 4” thread will lead to any new information.

I bet it will be 2020, the current truck has been the same since '07, I believe Toyota refers to the '07-'19 as the second generation, 12 years is a long time for the same basic truck, they are getting killed by Ford GM and Dodge.

I'd hope the big 3 are killing it with their trucks because Ford severely downsized the number of cars they offer and GM is closing plants that produce cars but keeping plants that produce trucks and SUVs. Without that, they'd be gone. Toyota doesn't need to sell the Tundra to stay in business like the others do.

Toyota came out with an extra hood scoop on their fancier models. I thought that was the new body style re-design.
    Seems pretty impressive to me!

having driven the big 3 recently in comparison to the Tundra...and having owned multiple Ram 2500's in the past few years, the Tundra feels as though it's a better vehicle in terms of how it's thought out and constructed. It's more quiet and the "soft touches" inside (platinum) seem as nice as what I've been in.

Chevy/GMC don't feel like trucks to me. They feel like cars and have always seemed cheap inside...Suburbans as my example. Shoot, when I used to rent Cadillacs for work, they were rattletraps every single time.

Only one I might compare are the Fords but they are literally everywhere I look.

IDK, I haven't owned a Tundra but for what I do (and for what the majority of people do) with trucks, it would appear to do a pretty solid job and maintain some integrity over time.

People have really bashed the truck in that it hasn't changed but they keep selling. Last I checked, Toyota wasn't run by complete morons. o_O

    Gonna disagree on the engine.

I have a friend that works for TRD doing the NASCAR races, he was saying the new Tundra engine will be like a Ford Eco-boost (turbo) and they're looking to get 25 mpg.

I've also received a few e-mails from Toyota about my Tundra and what I do to/with it and what I would like changed/added. Expect the next Tundra to have more bells and whistles on it technology wise but probably still behind the Big 3. I'm guessing 2021 since their haven't been and car magazines spotting the Tundra test mule out testing.

Thanks for being the guinea pig to find all the glitches and issues on a new drivetrain for everyone else. I felt pretty comfortable buying a proven design after 10 years. I will probably never buy a new model until it's been out a few years. And knowing the issues with the new "safety" features on the 18s, there will certainly be a period of recalls on the redesign.

The funny thing is, we all rationalized our way through this issue and into the driver's seat. I guess we're proof that creature comforts aren't the only reason people buy these trucks!

Anyone ever wonder whether Toyota's market research folks have a bot that scans the interwebs for convos like this one? Just in case they are...
