    Finally got around to modifying/customizing my 18+ LED Headlights.

    Heres a description of what I did, I'm really happy with the finished product gives the Tundra a modern clean appearance.

    Main housing bezels, low beam surround trim, turn signal bowls: semi-gloss black
    Upper and Lower LED diffusers: frosted
    Klearz mfg side markers: frosted
    6000K white LED side marker bulbs
    LED turn signal bulbs amber

    Used Rust-oleum Frosted glass spray paint, cleaned the diffusers and clear side markers several times with denatured alcohol, went over the surface with super fine steel wool #0000 to knock-down any burs. With the frosted spray paint, thin coats to build up the look is the best way. I did about 20 light coats with short dry time in between coats.

    There are a handful of tutorials on YouTube. Everyones experience is different so there is a learning curve. The 2014+ Tundra lights are known to be a pain to open due to the perma-seal that is used to mate the housing with the lens from the manufacturer. Oven @ 240 degrees for 20 min didn't work the first time for me. I ended up putting the lights back in the oven 2 more times each at 240 degrees for 9 min. As others, I used expanding pliers purchased on Amazon, flat head screw drivers and a lot of elbow grease. Purchased the Morimoto Butyl from Amazon to reseal the lights. Rust-oleum 2 step primer semi-gloss black spray paint, Rust-oleum Frosted glass spray paint for the LED diffusers and side markers.

    The orange side marker is OEM comes with the stock 18+ LED Headlights. A company by the name of Klearz makes an exact fit replacement side marker. I purchased the "clear" version they have "light smoke" and "dark smoke" as well. The side markers have 2 tabs that clips in place on the inner trim housing, easy switch out once the headlight assembly is opened. I then used Rust-oleum frosted glass paint to frost them.

    Pics of your conversion? Did you use the cold glue tools? A couple of guys said they didn't, I think they would have helped in my opinion.

    im aware of that.. HIDs and projectors have better output.. because you have a 17 u can use these 18s but still retro with a projector... i have an 18 i get an error.. im stuck

    I saw YouTube vids on how to do, put in over at 220° 10 min left was a PITA, only tools was flat head screwdriver n small pry bar, right baked bit longer n pulled apart easy, cleaning glue with flat head was PITA but also has a heater gun to clean out

    Aaah got it, wasn't clear on your first post. For the most part, I'm happy with the output of the 18+ LED headlights. I agree that there is room for improvement in light output. Looks like you have the Morimoto fog lights (I have the same) I also added the Rough Country LED bar in the valance so lighting is good for my needs.

    The color match on your truck and the mods to the LED's & fogs is awesome. Did you do the conversion? I was thinking of adding a light accent on the low beam "blade". What the story on that?

    Only reason I am posting is to let others know if you have an 18+ and you try and retro you will get a huge error HEADLIGHT MALFUNCTION PLEASE SEE DEALER. These 18 housings have drivers in them that talk back to the ECU. I tried resistors, canbus, and even tried wiring the OEM drivers in WITH my retro - no go.

    So you CAN retro these housings pre 18

    18 and UP as of now LED module only
