I need to pickup forty 60lbs bags of redi-mix. I know that its much beyond the recommendation. I have air bags to help the squat. It will only be in the bed for no more than 1 hr. The drive is only 5min. Would you do it?

Yes, I would make the drive. Twice. An extra trip is only 10 minutes.

With a 5min drive I'd make two trips.

I’ve done 20-22 80 lbs bags. Wouldn’t do any more. I was still “overloaded”

I’d pay the 50.00 and have it delivered so ya don’t have to handle it twice. Plus save the tare on the truck.

X2 for having it delivered. Any supply house I work with would give me free delivery within 15 miles on that as well.

On second thought, what colour is your truck @galaxyflyer1 ? If it happens to be Cement, then you might be OK. The truck and the cargo will become one, and be unstoppable. Maybe even literally. :eek2:

Yeah cement and stone... the only thing we can’t load efficiently without a trailer. Try to get delivered or take two trips.

    It's really dark
I've done more than that on stock leafs and no bags.

Drive slow, easy over bumps and you should be okay.

I would find a batch plant who delivers short loads..

    around here..
there are a couple short load trucks that have dry mix on the truck & will mix as much as you need on site.

it's not too bad on cost either

    Not nearly enough room here!
Bob, you didn't call what you're hauling "Cement", so I know you're smarter than average. Two trips would be wise!
