Hellwig 7700 Sway Bar today. Took about an 1 1/2hrs. Drives solid. Really feels like the rear is planted hard. Gonna take some acclimation time to give feedback.

Initially, feels like its added some sluggishness. At the same time, its planted on turns. Feels like the weight of the bar (35lbs) has nosed up the front a bit so turn response has reduced where before the front was planted and bit into the turn. Keep in mind the front has the OEM TRD sway. Almost feels like I need a rear lift of 1” with some beefier springs to give it forward rake bite.

Will report back after some more drive time as tonight only afforded me about 10 minutes in some neighborhood streets.

 

Took a pic of the rear diff breather extension with a new OEM Breather (one way) that was done last week. Ran the other end up to the backside of gas cap fill door.

 

Since I’ll have the front end torn apart, I’m thinking about replacing the wheel bearings, seals and LCA bushings. Pretty sure all are original with 163k. Thoughts?

Go for it. You doing DIY? Take pics. The wheel bearings are the next (big) project for me that I’ll probs pay someone to do as it looks like a PITA (per youtube vids on this matter). I have the wha, wha, wha at speed indicative of the bearings going south. They grind slightly when jacked up and spun by hand. 160k miles here.

Will buy all the OEM parts and provide to service tech. Wished I had done my front bearings when the front work was done this past summer, but was too busy to run the show for the mechanics. They didn’t do press work anyway and I’d have had to take spindles elsewhere. Will wait till 190k at next axle gear oil change and have the works done.

New bearings, seals, timing belt, water pump, alternator, tensioner pully, thermostat, etc. $4k? These can wait till the next 3 year investment cycle.

No diy. I don’t have a press and I need the gussets welded to the spindle. The welder is next door to a local shop that I trust that can press the old out and new in. Hopefully won’t be too time consuming/expensive.

Now thinking about pulling the cv’s and swapping in some Offroad Solutions cv boots.

Ive been researching and planning what I wanted and it just so happened that I figured it out right before Black Friday sales started. I’ve saved a ton so I can justify the purchases. You only live once, gotta enjoy it!

I was thinking Brace and Euro for the bearings but they might not have a press. Forgot about WFO and they might be able to do everything in their shop. Gotta call them.

 

i just did my LCA Bushings at 190k. I was having to lube them every week to keep them quiet. Along with those I did the Timing Belt / Water Pump for the 2nd time... Haven’t had to do any bearings... yet...

 

Well, just keeps the new bearings from cooking.

Got a ton of parts I need to install this weekend. Something started squealing under my hood when the weather got colder. maybe a belt or a bearing. Not sure. But i fear it's a bearing on a pulley.
Also these didn't fit, but I think I can make em work with a little research

 

If the wheels dont fit you can by an adapter, and boom! Those are gonna look sick on your truck Jon!
