Hi all! Just bought a 2015 Platinum edition and there's a button underneath the driver's side dash that I have no idea what it's there for. Nothing visibly or audibly happens when button is pushed. Can anyone help? (See pic attached)

It’s a dealer installed security system.

They use them to get in/out of cars on the lot. If you didn’t pay the ridiculous fee for it, they just deactivate it and unfortunately leave the hardware.

About 99%. Look at Karr security systems. My last two trucks have had the same thing. The button is used to put the alarm in “valet” mode when activated.

I always wondered how that worked.

Would seem to me that you couldn't go off road at all. I had Progressive and decided against it. The unit logs everything not just speed. It logs braking habits too. My agent actually said it would be pointless since I go off road. It's really for city/highway driving habits only.

You should be 100% sure about that. If you remove the front face, there is a a pc board on the back of the face that plugs in. If you remove it, the truck wont start. It is wired into the door locks in the left kick panel, and the ignition wires. About 5 minutes to remove. Splicing the ignition wires back together takes the longest. It will also be attached to a control box under the dash as well.
It is the KARR system. I had one in my truck when it was dealer traded from another dealer. I pulled it out before I even took delivery of the truck, lol. That was the bonus of working at the dealer I bought from.
