I use my truck to pleasure and work. With that said, I need to be able to carry a heavier load at times. Not a bunch more, but 500lbs or so more than I should. I can't always use a trailer when I work in the city.

    I have a 2016, TRD, SR5 with a crew max cab.

Will this work for my truck? Or does anyone else have any ideas on a good kit?

Don't go cheap on an add a leaf. Itll ride like crap. A progressive 3 leaf would be nice.

You may wanna look into sumo spring or superbump bump stops or air bags for your use. May fit your needs better than leafs.

I would only run add a leafs if I wanted a lift if I had a constant load like a cap, bebslides/drawers, heavy rack etc...

That's good to know. I've seen mostly good reviews here about the Icon AAL . Didn't know that Deaver had a AAL. By the way ..I have a AAL on my Tunny with ToyTec shackle and rides just fine with only a few hundred lbs at times. I need to check out that Deaver AAL setup!

What do you mean by losing capacity? Will this spring help my truck from sagging too much from a weight over load? I'm looking for someone that will add to my pay load.

    Thanks, let me know.

Yes , this kit will work and it will indeed increase the load capacity like you want. It's only 150 bucks brother, I say go for it.

I have the Tuff Country AAL. It's stiffer than stock but I wouldn't say it even comes close to "riding like crap". I wanted a little over 1" of rear lift and wanted to get rid of my block. This was a cheap and easy solution.

But your situation sounds like you'd be better off with Sumosprings or airbags. I also have Sumosprings to handle additional weight and can't say enough good things about them.

I added the sumo springs/bump stops...they did the trick.

Have you thought about airbags? Should be easier to install.

Forums.....love/hate. I have the Icon AAL in a cart about to pull the trigger and then I see this thread. I see some hate Icon AAL, some have run it for years with no issues at all. what do I believe? hell if I know, my guess is it'll give me the 1.5" i'm looking for and if in a few years it sacks out, i'll throw more money at it.

Okay. I ordered black sumo springs. Let's see how they handle.

If you want something that will add to your payload - get a different truck. Springs are only part of the equation for payload. Axle assemblies and frame strength play a part as well. Your legal payload is whatever your yellow door sticker says it is. Putting new springs on isn't going to change that (actually, adding a leaf technically will reduce the legal amount you can carry since you are adding weight).

Went fantastic. I had to wait for a day without snow or ice on the ground. That day finally came. I got it done in 2 hours. I did a 2" spacer and the sumo springs. It's pretty solid. Going to put about 2300lbs on it tomorrow. I'll report back with the results. Front is now @ 40" rear is @42"

I have the Icon AAL, I was going to get the Deaver mini pack but the shop owner changed my mind- difference being the Icon AAL let’s you keep the overload leaf so you don’t lose towing capacity ... I have had them for almost 2 months now and I’m loving them
