I just purchased a 2011 tundra 5.7 SR5 TRD with canopy. It has exactly 35,000 miles on it. Aside from some tire wear, it is literally in showroom condition. I'm really very happy with it. When I replace the tires later this summer, ( it now has the original tires with perhaps 10,000 miles left on them T best). I would like to increase the height a little bit when I replace them. I am considering a leveling kit. Any suggestions on tires? I pull a trailer part time and I am off road more than the average driver. Any other suggestions on modifications would be appreciated.

Welcome from CO Barry. Sean and I will recommend Cooper Discoverer STT Pro M/T's. Best off road tire I've ever purchased. I've owned a lot of different off road tires over the years. (4 + decades). I haven't had my STT's for too long, but quite frankly they are sick. Suspension??? Hold on, you will be swamped with a lot of ways to do that soon enough...............

I had the coopers on my silverado. they did great! for what I do now off road I haven't found anything perform better than the toys R/T's. I'll be trying out the toyo race tires though once the bead locks come in.

Bead locks make a big difference. I like Toyo's and Nitto's. Had the T Grap M/T's. Great tires, but price point???. My 295/70R/18E's -----$275. Nitto T Graps, same size----$400. If the STT's were $400 a piece like the Nitto's, I'd still go with the STT Pro's.

    Welcome from South La, Barry!!
I don't off-road all that much, just trails to and from my hunting camp and fishing spots. I love my Toyo AT2's better in mud than BFG KO's and quiet on the highways! Happy medium for me! Although, I'll be giving the RT's a whirl when these wear out!
I'd definitely look into suspension. From what I see, best choices you'd have is Bilsteins, Old Man Emu, and Toytec BOSS That is if you're not planning on putting some serious work on your suspension like some of these guys are. LOL
Since you're gonna be off-roading, don't do the spacer lift like I did! I have to snail over these trails now :annoyed:

Ya, we're getting custom beadlocks made up. I'm sure the race tires will perform better. I'm really liking how these R/T's handle off road. I might try the coops out when I get out to the sticks at the end of the year and play in the mud. I'm sure the r/t's don't do well in the mud, even aired down to like 7lbs.

Welcome! I currently have the Cooper STT Pro's and have no issues thus far. Tires look nice and beefy and aren't noisy at all. (as of yet)

The R/T's are most likely perfect for the grind you will be putting them through. We don't have a lot of mud here but the M/T grips come in handy at times mainly because of the varied terrain you see here. You can literally gain over a mile or more in altitude on some trails here with all kinds of traction conditions.
