Decision Time....Show Me Your T's....

The "T" is for Trucks. Please post a pic or two with your response. Here is where I am and still very confused. I've posted and researched on here a ton but still unsure. Black Friday will be the day I pull the trigger on SOMETHING!

I've got an 18 Crewmax 4x4, looking at Bilstein 6112's in front (probably 2.5") and 5160s in the rear with a 1" shackle. I'm confused as to what tire/rim combo I should go with. My truck will see some snow, a dirt road here and there, maybe a power line trail or a beach once a year if that. So nothing crazy off-road.

I am trying to avoid the CMC, or switching the UCA's. I am good with plastic modifying and some removal, but need ya'lls advice one last time.

Do I go with 18" rims or 17" rims, and what tire size? I don't want the tire to stick out much from the wheel well, but I definitely want to fill the wheel well more than the OE Michelins. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

 

Thats the setup i run, 6112 (top setting)/5160 with CB +2 shackles in rear, i didnt change UCAs and it aligned just fine. I am currently on OEM 18s with 275/70s. I am in the process of shopping for bigger tires and wheels myself. So im not much help there, but you should be able to get a 295/70 18 on there without many if any issues. Ive been looking at 35/12.5 18s but im gonna have some poke and probably going to have to do a BMC

 

I’m on stock suspension with 275/70s. I have talked to several people that went with 275/70s lifted and wished they went 295/70 on 18s. As for wheels I like the stock wheels. I’m going to get them painted gloss black like the old pro rims and save some money for tow mirrors and chrome delete

SUSPENSION: ToyTec BOSS 3/1 coil overs w/ rear shackles. I did replace my UCAs but it wasn't necessary....just personal choice.

WHEEL/TIRES: Fuel Pump 18's wrapped with 295/70/18

 

I am running the numbers on tires as we speak. Definitely going with Goodyears because I am getting an awesome deal on them.

I’ll post more when I get some solid numbers on pricing, but damn this is a tough decision!

 

Yeah, that $100 rebate makes duratracs look even better right now.

I feel like the 6112 makes people think the 5100 can’t do the job.
Truth is, the 5100 has been holding its own for many many years of off-road usage.
The 6112 will obviously handle it a little better, but don’t underestimate the 5100’s if the price is right.

 

IF I go with 17” Icon Rebounds I could score a set of Duratracs, 315-70-17’s for $960, throw in a $100 rebate taking it to $860 installed.

Now the questions....are these tires too heavy for OE UCA’s? I heard they’d fit without new UCA’s or the cab mount chop. RISKY MOVE, but it would look gooooooood!

I could do 305-70-17s for $890, $810 after rebate. They’d be the kevlar Duratracs.

The 295-70-17 Duratracs are $830, $730 after rebate. Goodyear only has one tire, the kevlar Duratracs for 295-70-18 and I’d get them for $850 after rebate.

 

35-1250-17 and 18’s also priced out, but I am pretty sure I’d have to do the CMC and replace the UCA’s.

 

Yeah man, I’m going with 6112’s for the 2.5” of lift up front.

 

I'm looking to add Pro suspension in the near future but I'd like to take advantage of this new CB group buy. Are you happy with the +2s? Pretty much looking for a similar stance but looking at the bottom picture, it looks nearly level? I have to keep a little rake to keep the TSS system happy. Thanks!

 

Perfect, thank you! I'll have to measure what the stock rake is now.. I'm thinking at least 1" should be enough to keep things happy. The 2019 pro is level and doesn't have any issues (I'm assuming). I really like the stance/ set-up you're running. I thought I was set with the +2 but then they posted a picture of the 2019 with a +3 installed so it threw me off. Thanks again for the feedback.

 

I've seen some pretty good deals for the 6112/5160 set-up, almost makes me want to go that route... Toytec and Wheelers Offroad are running some good sales. DirtyDeeds is local to me and I've thought about ordering from him as well.

 

What kind of price is Toytec giving you?

Would it be possible to run 35's on a 3/1 Toytec Boss lift-level? Wheels would be 18s.

 

Would a 4/2 clear 35's with replacing the UCAs?
