What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

I really want to do this next spring. I ran out of time to really look into it this year. How is it actually done? Just peel off a film on the back of the cluster?

 

Wet sand all the green away with 400 grit:


Took about an hour and a half.

05 and 06 already use led’s for the gauge cluster. Sand away the green and you’ll have white gauges. The hvac bulbs have a green film on them. Either take the film off for a warm halogen color or replace them with led’s. I already had some 194’s and 74’s which worked out.

So, sorry if this is a stupid question.....but would the green paint come off w paint thinner or gasoline w out harming the bezel? Or is sanding the only option here?

 

I don’t think paint thinner or gas would work but you could definitely try. I only read about guys sanding. 400 grit doesn’t hurt the dash plate and makes quick work of it. It’s more of a film, not paint.

I’ve seen a few front diffs exploding from running 35s... I will say most have been non-oem CVs.

That’s one thing that doesn’t make 35s too appetizing for myself....

I think the biggest I’d go is 285/75/17s or 295/70/17s...
