Strange question. In my 18 CM Sport with manual AC it doesn't matter which position I choose for the air flow direction, (floor, vents, defrost) it always blows air out of the vents. It does blow air to the floor or defrost if those positions are chosen, but always while continuing to blow through the dash vents. Is this normal Tundra/Toyota operation or do I have an issue?

I tried the recirc button this evening and it didn't light up or make a difference. The system was on full heat at the time. I'll give that a try again in the morning and see if it makes a difference.

    Thanks

Okay, this morning when I got in the Tundra to go to work I tried the recirc solution. This didn't change anything. With the system on full heat and set to blow out of the floor vents, it's still blowing air out of the dash vents. Can anyone confirm whether or not their late model truck does this?

    Thanks

Yes, until the knob is turned the first notch toward defrost, which makes sense.

My truck always seems to blow a little bit through the vents when the other positions are chosen. It’s not a lot but it’s enough to notice. My previous Chevy used to do the same things as well as my old Dodge. I want to say it’s normal depending on how much is still flowing. I don’t know why Carmen you facture‘s have not figured this out. I don’t want the air blowing in my eyeballs lmao!
So I just direct it away from me and have learned to deal with it.

I just came out of driving an F250 for the last several years and I don't remember it doing this. Maybe it is a normal Tundra thing. After all it is pretty easy to just reach up and shut the vent.
