Hey I’m going to be putting this bumper on my 15dc: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-2018-...ch-Ready-KO-Offroad-Black-Powder/201683297065

As well as a winch, most likely: https://www.rockridge4wd.com/i-2125...x-85-heavy-duty-roller-fairlead-97-12000.html

I’m planning on putting a 4” toytech lift as well. Should I put the bumper on before the lift? I also have read that bilstein 6112 should be installed to support the extra front end weight and to improve the ride. This might be a dumb question but those would only be on the front correct? And would that setup all work together? Bilsteins with a lift and pre runner? Don’t wanna build it and it not work. Are there other options similar to the 6112 that aren’t as expensive?
I should be buying the bumper and winch this month and the toytech lift next month. I was originally going to lift the truck then install the bumper but I’m not sure if that’s the way to go or if it would support the front end enough to not nose dive when I drive without new suspension.
Thanks for answering my probably obvious questions!

What shocks come with that 4" toytec lift? If they are the Bilstein 6112 (yes front only) I would see if Toytec can add heavy duty coils. This will support the weight of the bumper. I would try to do everything at the same time or install the bumper first. Putting heavy duty coils on without the additional weight will make for a horrible ride.

I would go with an OME shock with a heavier coil. But I am no expert. I would send toytec an email or call and explain what you are looking for. They would be able to give you better advice.

That is my problem with the winch. It doesn’t seem to really specify what kind of cable. Or at least to me it seems confusing. The other winch I was looking at apparently is full bodied and possibly won’t work that bumper

Also, I can’t seem to find a 4” coilover. Toytech recommends I get a fully adjustable coilover lift but I can’t find any that are decently priced.

The other one was around on the forum here as being pretty good but it didn’t make much sense to me. The 85 ft one is what I want but the seller said it’s full bodied and possibly won’t work with the bumper. I don’t know much about winches as this is my first truck and my other car is a Camaro lol but I figured it’d be semi universal.

yeah that is a great option. There are several people on this forum running that setup. I don't know what your budget is but I would also look at camburg or spc upper control arms at some point. Not necessary but piece of mind is always nice

What benefits come with upgrading the upper control arms? I’ll be doing very minor off roading because the truck is also my daily. In the future it will be towing my drag car idk if those types of things would be more bulletproof with new control arms.
Toytec carries great products and they are supporting @Pandra with a new suspension for his new truck. I know who I would buy from if I were looking for a new suspension.[/QUOTE]
That’s awesome, I saw he was getting a new truck but didn’t hear about anything else. I’ve seen lots of recommendations for toytec and they’re much more affordable than some other brands so I like that

I really like those hex lights opposed to a light bar. Pretty sure I just commented on the post you’re talking about haha

Ooooh where’d you get your hood decal?? I want that along with a couple other decals but since they’re just for looks they’re kind of last on my current upgrade list

Benefits of different control arms is the better geometry for down travel. Once you raise above 3”, the stock control arms don’t have the full range of motion to account for all of the down travel. 3” you are still in the clear but if you have the money I would get them

I’ll have to look into new UCAs in the future. Thank you for all the replies lol
Do you have any opinion on that lift/suspension I posted? Toytec told me it won’t really be an improvement on stock and won’t be good with weight. The only extra weight on the front will be that bumper and an 85 pound winch. The only heavy towing will be a flat trailer and an old Camaro

I guess I’ll slowly be buying more suspension parts lol. Probably will get the bumper and the rebuildable coilovers. My only problem is figuring out the lift since the sets I can find that are affordable are like 2” so I might have to get a 5” with new UCAs and everything else at once for the lift. Lol goodbye money.

What year is your Camaro? Mines a 96 so not too old but slowly being rebuilt into a drag racer.

I wish I had an older cam like that. 18BBCBBF-3698-404D-9E38-166BADE8E2C2.jpgHere’s mine right when I got my tundra before I modded anything. 513C5EEC-81DE-4309-BC33-8C81FE0931D5.jpgThis is the engine that’s going into the Camaro lol came out of a 76 c10 and we pulled it when it was like 100 degrees and humid as hell with no shade. Never gonna pull an engine in that weather again

Also do you know how much your ko bumper weighs about?

That should work! I would adjust the leveling kit as high as it can go so the weight of the bumper doesn't make it sag.

I was worried about that and I talked to my toyota dealership and they said with that weight they’d usually just throw some blocks in to support it. So I figure this lift will support it and still give a pretty close to 4” lift
