Ranch Hand Brush Guard-will it interfere with 2016 parking sensors?

I am looking to install a brush guard (mostly for deer in northern Maine-always see or drive around a few on my trips north-moose is another story-those you just don’t want to hit) and have settled on the Ranch Hand Legend for my 2016 Crewmax. (Recommended convincingly in other posts)
I have parking sensors and have heard different answers on sales sites as to whether they will interefere or not with my front sensors. The Ranch Hand site seems to say yes- though the rails are not near the sensor-maybe proximity?)
Does anyone have experience with these, and if it’s a potential issue, is there a fix?
    Input would be greatly appreciated.

I have the legend, which is just the brush gaurd not the one with the full front bumper, and I don't have the prkg sensors, so sorry I can't help, I believe someone else on here has the full bumper replacement, but not sure if they have the sensors, but the did cut out the middle mesh screen because of the TSS

Thanks. Appreciate your response! You have the same one I want to get. I don’t want the extra weight of a full bumper. I am dying to order this thing. Hopefully I can get it and install it by Thanksgiving.
I couldn’t tell if they were referring to the TSS sensor in the grill-which I don’t have-or the small parking sensors to the side. There is no real front warning sensor-just the side indicator.

Nice Truck! Think I am going to order it! That sensor is way off to the side.

So I was about to pull the trigger and decided to call customer service at Ramch Hand to make sure. They phoned me back and said unfortunately the side front parking sensors on the tundra will respond to the Legend brush guard. They said they dont have a fix for it. Makes no Sense (pun intended!) Seems they should explore it because they will lose some sales.
I found a Legend sensor “adapter” on Amazon for about $80 which is basically a long metal bar with two holes punched out. LOL I have a Mig welder and could do better on my own. Wish I Hand a brush guard to play with... Also read a review (Silverado) where a user with an adaptor was complaining about his Truck’s exposed sensor wiring (serious flaw) after the relocation.
That’s, that! Real Cowboys don’t live in the city and don’t want or need parking sensors.
Guess I have a decision to make. More coffee, Better lights, drive slower, or start looking at bumpers

Exactly. Real cowboys don't need parking sensors. Nice to have but that Ranch Hand, which I had, will help you forget about those sensors. My 2 cents. Nothing stands up too well against a moose. Oh wait...an Alaskan Railroad engine guard. Heh..heh...

So true. That would work! I may just call it a day and get one.

One of my brothers and sister in law each have totaled their cars on Moose at one point. It’s not the inevitable damage, I just want to eat moose on my plate, not inside my cab!

I have seen and avoided too many to remember. The one time I do remember clearly is in broad daylight, Weaving through doing 60 (no time to brake) a big ass cow and a couple of yearlings crossing the highway. Those days are long gone. Nowadays, on route 11 I drive like a grandma with eyes wide open. It’s a rare trip when you don’t see one.

My friends brother took out a large bull moose south of Soldotna on the Sterling highway on Kenai Peninsula when I was up there. Needless to say his Dodge 4X4 was totally fracked up big time. Didn't get hurt though. What sucked was that it was around 1am and we had to haul a flat bed to him and tow his truck back to their lodge. Lost a wheel off the trailer going back. Middle of the night, cold as shit. Fun times...

Route 11 in northern Maine, you up in Patten? How the frig are ya from the Western Foothills. I am in the same boat as you but instead of many moose, we are infested with deer. I have an SR5 without sensors and have been coveting a Ranch Hand. Are you still looking to get one? I'd love to hear about your purchase, install, and review experience.

Yup. YAY! A fellow Mainer. live in Portland but from Aroostook Saint John Valley on the border. Family in Fort Kent, so I take 11 North and save about an hour. I figure out here you will see moose and deer everywhere so I may as well take the road into the heart of darkness. It keeps me from getting lazy because I KNOW there is one waiting around the next bend. And it’s a very pretty drive.
I have the sensors and want to keep them so sadly the ranch hand is out. I am getting the Westin HDX (arriving Monday) which a few members have assured me does not interfere. The Ranxh Hand is on sale on Amazon last time I looked.
My brother in law is originally from Nebraska and runs farms out there and a big beef farm up in New Canada. He drives a big Silverado diesel and was laughing and said the full bumper and guard combo is best way to go with deer. He offered me his - “weld it up so it fits” because he is running a plow all the time. He says, “saved my truck So many times. No damage. When you see them coming, you just hang on to the steering wheel.” Dang!
Personally, I have talked with a couple of local guys with the Westin”s and they say they like them and have survived hits intact.
Stil, I would have gone with the Ranch Hand because of the great recommendations from our Southern friends. It’s the one to get. And better yet, the rig with the bumper.
The hitch for me is I use my sensors daily. My garage has 6 inch clearance on either side and 1 inch at the back when the guard is installed. I use my cam and tap a tennis ball to know when to stop. It’s only a matter of time until I would scrape the side or hit something.

Westin is good too. Post up some pics of your install and review. I've been up there to The Fort and know what you mean by a sh!t ton of critters on the roads at night.

Anyways, I really wanna put that Ranch Hand in my Amazon cart but I may wait with the holiday spending in all. $600 is a hell of an early xmas gift for myself! Lol

LOL I say go for it! You love your truck. Give yourself a treat too! I did the math in my head and considered what I was saving in other places. When I saved $150 on something else I would have spent, I gave myself permission and pulled the trigger. I must have had both the ranch hand and Westin 10x in my “buy now” cart.
The Westin went from 599 to 545 for a week or so then right back up. The ranch hand I noticed dropped down soon after to 595 or close. I saw guy with a black 6 year old Westin at Sam’s that still looked great on his truck. I got mine for the sale price. That was it.
I will post pics when I get it installed!

Oh which one to choose...?? The RanchHand and HDX are beefy (maybe too beefy) but will help against animal strikes. The Westin Sportsman (grey truck) looks the most simple/clean but is only cosmetic at that. What do you think?

Think they are about the same. I think the ranch hand is the strongest as the Texas and southern folks swear by them as no toy. I think the serious ranchers, of which my brother in law is, don’t mess around and go with a full bumper and guard. Problem solved.
The Westin I think looks custom for the truck as I have seen several locally that look great. They are beefy. I would go with stainless but I do t want the chrome. Still I have read many reviews about the HDX that are high and people say they hit deer head on. Nothing will protect the truck from a moose or very large animal.
I decided on the HDX guard bs the sportsman because I do t like the crosspieces in from of the lights. They can be removed but...
I like the look and the idea of a full heavy mesh screen in front of the grill as well so I went with that.
I am I stalling as we speak-finishing tomorrow cuz it’s cold here and I waited to get a ratcheting wrench rather than fidget with the upper brace nuts.
I will take pics tomorrow and post. I am excited to put it on! As far as weight. It’s on the heavy side. Over 100 pounds But no more and a the average passenger.

Oh. And I am told the Westin does not interfere with parking sensors. Ranch hand support said their’s does. Will see tomorrow! If you hear a F—- tomorrow, it interferes.

I didn't know there were this many options really. What size is the wrench/bolt you need a ratcheting wrench for? Also, do you have a leveling kit or anything that you're going to compensate for the front end suspension droop? I just have an SR5 (not TRD) so I'm sure I'll have .5''-.75'' droop.

I do like the fact that the HDX is better rated to take a deer strike. The Sportsman just seems cosmetic but that style guard is what most vehicles (that are equipped with guards) have on. You're lucky to have seen an HDX in person, I've never seen one before. Surprising really, Oxford County has seemingly as many critters as people but its rare to see any front end protection.

Looking forward to seeing your pix. Could you take a measurement of how much your suspension droops after settling and taking some different angle shots (including in-cab) view? Thanks for all your help and conversation Mambo. Stay warm!

Ion willl take a bunch of parts and install. pics.
The ones I saw looked to be without mods. No lifts. Just OEM.
I put a lift on mine a couple months ago. Bilstein 6112 set at 1.9 in the front. Which is really a nice leveling kit. Then I added 1 Bilstein 5160 in the rear and added a 1 inch block. The block gave me the original rake back but in retrospect I didn’t need it. The shocks stiffened the ride a bit. And the block even more. I am Getting rid of the block and going with the coach builder 1 inch shackles (through the site group buy) which will smooth out the ride and lower the rear lift to about a half inch or so which will be perfect.
I would open the hood and have someone weighing about 100 pounds sit on the lip and see how much drop you get. Then there is always the momentum generated by the additional weight pulling down when you brake etc. the extra weight is ahead of the axel.
I will take some before and after measurements. I have a good floor in the garage so it should be accurate.

Then there is the push bar. LOL when I parallel park downtown I figure if the sedan guys want to back into my truck when parking, the price is they they are gonna have to crunch through some steel.

I installed it today. It’s a pretty straight install but for trimming the lower bumper plastic trim about 2 inches wide and a half inch down to allow for the upper support.
Hardware is heavy duty about 1/4 inch thick.
Easiest install is to get the ratcheting wrenches at harbor freight. 14 to 18 mm. Use a blade or even better a dremel tool to make the cuts.
A deep socket and bar to remove the tow hooks. The thing I discovered is that you can reinstall them by putting them back backwards! There is a center hook that will still make them useable. The instructions say no, but it’s yes of backwards.
Luckily it does not interfere with my sensors. Everything is 100%. Once installed it feels pretty strong and very well put together.
I used the shipping foam as a jack and extra hands to hold it in position for mounting. This worked well.
It’s not that heavy, specs say over 130 lbs but it was pretty easy to lift. I would say less.
I am posting pics of tools and process with final outcome. It adds about 8-10 inches to truck length and a few inches maybe 2-3 on each side beyond what your folded mirror does. I always back into the garage and now have 5 inches to spare beyond the guard on each side. Overall it’s very sturdy. I pushed hard on the wings and there is very little give. The whole truck wants to move. The mesh grill is thick and sturdy. I certainly would not want to run into it, nor would a car backing into it fare well!

Later shots with tape measure are the before and after height of the fender lip at hub center from the floor.

    That’s it!
No shot from the driver seat but you see half the top rail above the hood.
