Gas treatment brand?

Hey guys, been thinking of adding some gas treatment up in my tank. Wanted to see what brand ya'll have had good experiences with and how often do y'all do it? STP any good?

 

I've never used it but with this truck I want to take care of it and take as many steps as I can to keep it up. Why? You think it's a waste?

I've heard good things about the Chevron Techron but like TJ said, I wouldn't even think about it until later miles.

 

Looked into this a while back for my old Tacoma & Chevron Techron was highly rated. I found it at Walmart. However, there is no need for this if you regularly use Top Tier Gas. Most brand names sell it as well as Costco. Google it and you'll find an explanation of it and a list of brands that only sell Top Tier. Toyota is one of the original vehicle mfgs that suggest its use.

Hah, that's one thing my wife does NOT need, is new shoes! I only have 5 pair (sneakers, flip flops, work boots and two dress shoes one black one brown) she has over 50. How????

Bg44k is the best ive found. I've run it in my other cars and all have increased mpg and felt throttle response.

Im about the add bg MOA To engine oil after oil change and bg 44 k to gas.

Also just an observation. The exhaust tip that came with my truck started to get dirty after running kroger gas. I cleaned the tip and decided to run shell nitro gas. After a full tank not a
Speck on the exhaust tip. I ran kroger fuel (93 octane) after half a tank the tip was dirty again.
Waited till light came on filled up with shell nitro and cleaned tip. Not one bit of carbon.
It costs me about 4 bucks a tank more but a cheap fuel cleaner is 4.99.
Since my tundra had 27k when i purchased it
Im going to run the 44k. I usually do it at 15k intervals on my other vehicles. I know many say it does not work but i can tell you that the increased power and extra mpgs are for real.
Last thing about the bg products. my neighbor has a 2011 chrysler tc. It burned 2 quarts of oil every 6k miles. After running the bg 109 and adding moa after 3k miles oil level is still perfect and looks like the day we did the oil change.
No, i don't sell bg products. They have just work out very well for me.

 

I'll throw my two cents in, I use Techron about a tank before every oil change and I will say I do happen to notice a slight change in idle quality and I get maybe half a mile per gallon better.

Five bucks every 10,000 miles or so in my opinion is not necessarily a quote waste of money especially when I do notice a slight difference after using it.

Everyone has their own opinions and experience, that's mine.

 

Even though I used it several times, I don't feel the urgency to do it. I've used Techron, and Gumout. I did not feel any difference, nor did I see any difference in mpg. But I figured that it's gotta do something good.

 

I don't do in my new Tundra...but I use lucas in my T100 every oil change good improvement in gas mileage

 

I can vouch for Lucus Octane Boost from first hand experience.

Simply stated, when I used to tune my Mustang, adding Lucas would raise the octane enough to allow me to add more timing because of the active knock sensors in the car. If the ECU would detect knock, it would retard timing in order to prevent possible damage to the engine. I could see the additive doing its job via tuning parameters, when it came to increased performance. Plugs were always clean, but I am also picky about sticking with one brand of fuel all of the time.

Our Tundras also have active knock sensors.

 

I use this ... version 1.0 was complete junk. 2.0 is much better. increased butt dino and mileage is way up too.

 

Injector cleaners occasionally, are a good idea after maybe 60 to 100K. I add Stabil because I have a 48g tank and drive this truck so little, I only fill up around every 3 to 4 months.
