Need another key...

I lost one of my keys around my house somewhere. I have a total of 3 remotes since I have a remote start system so I only need a key

My main question is what would be the cheapest way I can get a key purchased, programmed and cut?
Would I be better off buying an uncut key on ebay and having toyota cut and program it or just program it or should I just go there and purchase it all through them?
Looking for the cheapest way out...depending how cheap I wouldn't mind having 3 so all my remotes have a key but is there a limit to how many keys I can have programmed? Is there a way to unprogram the one I lost? Or can I have all 4 keys in case the one turns up?

I think a locksmith might be able to program your key too? I wonder if it can be done with Tech stream?

 

ive heard through the grapevine that it can but i know nothing about techstream, i still need a tech and the equiptment right

Yeah, you can get it on Amazon. Just be sure to get one that works with the operating system of your computer.

 

I can get you the key, but it will have to b e cut and programmed locally.

Solely dependent on the dealer. We do it here because we like to help our customers, but I have heard of some dealerships being jerks about it and requiring the key be purchased from them.

We have Ace Hardware stores here in Colorado that can cut/program specific keys for a fraction of dealer costs, haven’t verified for a Toyota yet, but they cut/programmed a spare for my Jeep GC key for like $30 last year.

 

Ace here charges about double that. I took a Toyota key to them and they screwed it up when cutting it. Not sure how I have had other keys cut there. I did not immediately ask them for reimbursement but I should have. I bought the key blank on Amazon.

 

Bought a genuine Toyota key on Amazon for $11. Toyota cut and programmed it for $45.
