I'm considering something like a push bar on my 2014+. Something that will protect the front of the truck if, I hit a 200 lb deer, or maybe even a 350 lb bear at highway speeds. Is there any such animal out there? Who is the manufacturer?

Also, I want it to look fairly good and not rust (hopefully never).

Maybe, I should first ask, how tough is the front end of the truck stock from the factory? Anyone have experience in hitting a big creature with the truck stock?

Modern vehicles have crumple zones. I am sure there is a pretty beefy cattle guard out there. Might be looking into a new bumper though for freeway speeds and hitting a large deer/bear. My brother had a Ranch Hand on his last 3/4 ton diesel in Montana. He would bounce deer off that damn thing all the time.

Oh, just an FYI, the Ranch hands are HEAVY!!!!. We used an engine hoist to install his due to the weight.

Do you happen to know exactly which Ranch Hand model he has/had?

I've got a tough country bumper I'm trying to sell. It's the same style as the ranch hands. It is heavy as hell. If I remember right, the website said approximately 275 pounds.

First off where do you live? If you live in an area that you need something like that I would either go with a ranch hand style bumper or make your own out of heavy duty steel.

I got this now...... Forget a push bar. They are only good in case someone backs into you at 5mph and to use as a large light mount bracket. Can't beat a Ranch Hand product unless to want to spend twice as much for a fabricated set up. Not brag, just pure fact. The bracket/guard mount thickness is 1/2 thick with grade 8 fasteners. Can't beat that unless you pay big bucks to custom fab. Check it out: http://www.ranchhand.com/[IMG]

Ranch hand makes awesome stuff but if I had to buy one today, I'd buy ARB. Just a personal favorite as of now.

ARB is the best you can get other than custom made, but I would only go ARB route if I wanted to mount a winch. Remember you would definitely have to seriously beef up your suspension to compensate for all that weight and at 2X times the cost.

I have the ARB catalog in my hand and it only shows 2nd gen Tundras as the sexy models for the Sahara bars/guards.

Just checked ARB site. Zero 3rd gen. I got this catalog a couple of weeks ago. ARB overall has some decent goodies if you have the $$$$. I wish I could afford one of their refers.

When you go out into God's country, you'll find Ranch Hands on nearly all the work trucks. I'll be buying one of their grill guards for mine sometime soon.
