I bought a used SR5 2014 DC, has tow mirrors, aftermarket electric brakes.
He mentioned it had the tow package,so that would mean 4.3 gears , correct?
Just curious if there is a way to look up VIN specs.

You can also email the vin to Toyota customer service. They will email complete spec list. I did this for a Rav4 that I bought my daughter.

vin will not actually show what packages are with the vehicle using a decoder. they have to do a vin lookup in dealer daily to see what options/pkg are added to the vehicle.

since the tow package is an option that is either installed at the port (PIO) or at the dealer (DIO). usually DIO stuff is wont show on the Mulroney where a PIO will show on the Mulroney.

if I remember correctly the tow package is labeled as "TO" option/pkg code unless it is standard equipment with the trim level.

I tried that site, it didn't mention if my truck had the tow package. I didn't sign in though and my "print out" didn't look like yours. When I called the Toyota dealer , they only needed the last 8 digits. Reason I wanted to no is, I replaced my ring and pinion assembly( old one was noise "whiny" at certain speeds) and wanted to make sure the right one was ordered. No noises now, next thing is suspension, maybe a little level.

SR/SR5 the tow package is optional

limited, plat, 1794, pro it comes standard.

so if you pull a vin from a SR/SR5 it wont tell you if it comes with a tow package or not unless you lookup via dealer daily to see what options it has.

and using a vin from a limited, plat, 1794 or pro will always show a tow package since its not tied to a vin. it comes with the vehicle regardless.

and in case you are wondering, that screenshot is from a plat/1794 since those are the only models that get a 12-way seat as standard.

If the truck is a 2014 or newer and has the 5.7, it has the tow package. It's standard on 5.7 equipped trucks.
Before 2014 it was an option.

Thanks for the help on this thread, came here because I purchased a 2014 1794 at auction and it will arrive in 2 weeks. I cannot see from the photos if it has a Factory Brake Controller and we have a trip coming up once it arrives.

Did the 2014 1794 Edition Include a Factory Brake controller? I have watched all the youtube reviews and nobody seems to mention it.

If it did not include one, has anyone got a Redarc to work with the 2014's semi-unique wiring, Or only the Tenkosha
