Painted the rack and remounted it last night. I took the trash out at work today and just had to take a poser shot. The next mod is the going to be the headlights. This limo tint is hard to see out of with these stock lights :bananadead:

Yup! Gonna do the mled projector, turbine shrouds and rgb with switchback halo. Going to paint the housings black and the shrouds color match blue marlin pearl. I did all black on my 4runner build and it's boring.

I’m about to order a kit that trs recommended but am now wondering if I should go led. What’s your thoughts between led and hid?

So the d2s 4.0 hid projector has better width than the mled. But the mled is on instantly (no warmup time), no bulbs/ballasts/wiring harness to worry about so easier installation and better hotspot than the hid. In my opinion I don't need the extra width city driving and offroad I have Baja pods to supplement the width I'd be losing going led. My brother has the 4.0 hid so I'm excited to compare my mled with it.

Love the info. I live where there are no street lamps and could benefit from the better width. I think I’ll stick with the mini d2s.

Yep that's exactly what I would do! Phoenix has tons of city lights so I'm okay without the width.

Hmmn. After a couple mentions of this 4Runner, I'm pretty interested. Got a link to that build?
Does your brother live close to you? If so, any chance you two can get your trucks together after you do this, line up your trucks and show us a headlights output comparison?

No build thread but here ya go. 4th gen fox rears with land cruiser springs, kings up front, camburg uppers. It's a great little truck but not big enough for us.

And yes that's the plan! We'll go to a lit parking lot and the desert at night and compare the two!

    That's a pretty truck!

Thanks in advance for the promised light comparison. At least one guy on here looking at that right now.

Thank you! I definitely like my vehicles looking pretty. The Tundra has swirls and paint correction spots (horribly done) and it bothers me. I'll repaint it eventually the same color when it gets bad. For now I'm going to have a buddy detail it after the winter.

And I'm looking forward to the light comparison. People knock the mled because of the lack of width but I don't need it in my application. All the pros to it outweigh that one con. So I'm excited!

Finally put the 35s on! My 34s used to touch frame a little bit. Now with 1.5" spacers up front the 35s don't touch frame. No pictures of where we cut for now but it's pretty straightforward. I'm absolutely loving how these look!

Impressive, not many people on here running 35’s on a 1st gen. Really enjoy seeing commonly held notions proved wrong.

I've got 39.5 on my 1st gen :anonymous:

    But I guess that's a different 1st gen....

Anyway, welcome op, good looking truck.... still trying to figure out the drift part... I was hoping to see a manual swap, lowered 2wd, possible 2j....

I like the color and that bronze with it is beautiful

Most people are too afraid to put in the extra work to fit them, even though it's not that hard. And everybody thinks you need a regear when you really don't. We're having fun though!

What kinda first gen?? And Drift is the trucks name. We name our vehicles after transformers and Drift is the black and blue samurai.

Hell yeah, my first vehicle was a 92 4runner and I miss the hell out of it. We're hoping to buy my father in laws 83 pickup to SAS. And sorry no, our next Tundra will be long traveled. But this one is just our camping/adventure truck

Ya I love my fat pig, but the lack of usibility out of it is kinda frustrating if right there with you wanting a lt set up. Though I think mine is gonna be out of an old pickup. There is an 87 turbo that I'm looking at snagging from a coworker.

    I assume the 83 is 2wd currently?

Long travel is cool and v8 power, but sas diesel yota.... that's a hard one. Depends on your wheeling I guess. I like the crawling but that's left me with a trailer queen... there isn't quite enough to do with lt where I live other then crawling

Is that a Toyota diesel? Or Mercedes swap? Or another swap?

I'm loving these 35s! They look so damn nice and the truck still feels like a race truck compared to my little V6 engine in the 4runner. Today we replaced cluster and ac lights to white, transmission lights to blue and finished the interior with led. Tomorrow we clear more for the 35s.
