What setting did you use for sound? Is there somewhere in setting you can turn down the volume after you start your car?

 

I think if you dig back in this thread you will find how to change the color or it may be in this video (think it's the part in Chinese). I record all of my base settings to prevent myself from bricking it.

I think we were able to Change color and theme on the first gen.

Question for platinum...when headlight are on at night when you turn off engine it use to stay on until you lock the car.. now it just turn off when you shut down .. is there any setting to fix that?

 

I will have to check, I think mine shut off with time or with the key fob.

Cool, I’ll have to check tpms later, maybe only 2018+? If not, their BT module returns a 404 now, they don’t sell it anymore?

 

I’d like to install a front cam that sees the bumper for parking assist, I wondering where I can tuck this?

@JoshuaA @dud13 , I'm thinking this could be a 2018+ only thing. I have a'17 ant mine just says "no TPMS device"

 

Did you fix the headlight and fog issue? Mine is doing the same.

 

Did a little test for you, on my 16 platinum with the 2nd gen HU my headlights will shut off just after 30 seconds after the door is opened and closed or two two clicks of the fob.

 

So updating ES File Explorer through the PlayStore allows NTFS formatted external drives which means video/movies >4GB but you get ads on the file management page, so avoid if you don’t want ad spam.

 

Mine shut off right when I open the door and I have set timer to 30s. When you have a chance can you snap some picture of the car setting? Thanks!

 

Ok this is for anyone needing to change the volume level at start up.
What I did was change (ACC VOLUME) to save and now the volume will be set at the volume the unit was last shut down at.

Video number 2 when you click on Tundra HI what’s is your on? Mine showing this. I had to change it to BNR with AC

 

Maybe because they have these factory readings available on their dash. I don’t, do you?

 

Where do we change which media player the Video icon uses again? Or is it changeable? I forget

 

Headlight still shut off after opening the driver door.. other door is fine.only does it with the driver door... been playing around with the setting still can’t find a fix..

For those of you who are not part of the Facebook group " " please go join and let's make a large group and figure this out together. We have solutions to some things, and I notice you have solutions to things we dont yet. Plus, there are a few updates there that we get direct from Phoenix. We just go one that will enable you to connect a bluetooth OBD plug to the unit. There have been problems doing so. Thanks.

 

And, I will invite the FB group here to join. So, kind of like cross posting. Plus, we got a couple of guys who have cracked into the units OS and we are working on trying a few things on our own.

 

I wish these discussion posts were someplace else. Try to avoid using facebook like the plague.

 

Would rather discuss solving solving issues with the Phoenix HU unit here, much more easy to reference a post # and I think post videos. Should we maybe start a a new thread for different versions of the the HU?

 

Great idea; at least be specific about the HU brand...it drives my OCD crazy that this thread isn't called "Phoenix Android Head Unit Discussion Thread" or something similar, since technically there are other brands of Android head units out there, but this thread really specifically talks about the Phoenix. My psychotic issue though, not everyone else's...
