im installing bed lights in my double cab this weekend and I know where I’m tapping into the factory wiring but where are you guys exiting the bed at? Any help and pictures really appreciated. Trying to keep everything as clean as possible. Thanks!

Man this is perfect. I had been reading threads but somehow missed an OEM option. I’m going to order these now and send the ones I ordered back.

    Thanks man.

Depending on what you got, I’d skip the Toyota ones. I had the same thought process on my last truck, and I just found the oem lights frustrating. They’re right by the tailgate and shine into the bed, which means that if you have more than one thing in the bed, whatever is closest to the tailgate blocks all of the light and you can’t see anything behind it.

I pulled the driver tail light and ran the wires up there. There are several places to pass wire through the inner bed. I recommend a grommet when passing through any hole.

I actually like the OEM Toyota ones. They don't shine in my face but instead back on my cargo. And if I need more light than they provide my tonneau cover has a built in light that I can flip on and even detaches if I need to use it outside the bed.

I think they're good $$ spent. Agree they should be standard on EVERY FRICKIN TRUCK!

Not only that but they're not very bright and don't stay on long. Aftermarket is truly the way to go.

Sometimes when the mood strikes me (and I've had a bit too much to drink) I like to throw caution in the wind and pass through holes without a grommet. I mean I can always just pull out right?

Bed lights help so much especially if running a topper. I put a switch in the cab and in the bed itself. Makes life a little easier in the dark.
    +1 aftermarket bed lights
