I am looking for new headlights. I get confused with all the combinations that are discussed here.
The lights above are the style I am looking for but wondering if projectors are the best option.
These are Spyder brand and cost $316 on Amazon.
    https://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Sequo...532380&sr=1-1&keywords=5085344+|+847245085344
Do you add a ToyTec HID kit to these?
What bulbs are best for projectors?
Can I hook up my levelers on these?
What am I missing in my research?
What would you do if replacing your headlights?

Thanks in advance for you thoughts.

hit or miss on the quality unfortunately. some people love them some people hate them. I'm still debating whether or not to buy them.

Light output is poo poo.... Unless they've updated the projector housing to a true HID housing/bulb..

that's the thing, all those aftermarket lights but no one update the projector housing..I don't get it. They should design them for LED/HIDs. If you going aftermarket you don't want stock halogen.

It states on the spyder website that adding HID/LED bulbs will void warranty. Kind of confusing statement I believe. Others have added them with no issues, I read this on here some where.

    What brand would you recommend?

Even though it's LED, it's still a Halogen reflector. Toyota needs to pull some of the Lexus projects over to the Toyota platform.

So I bought the previous model because I like the led strip light around and not running thru the mid section I have had them for 3 months now.......yes the spyder lights are terrible is far as output but if you switch to the HID 55w is huge improvement but I do not recommend LEDs for projectors I tried it and out put was terrible compared to the stock headlight out with LEDs that was so good.....I have not had an issue yet and also get lots of compliments

You better of get yours retrofitted with true projectors.
The price difference don’t make sense to go for the bling oriented lights without performance of real output

Had those and end up returning for refund. The cutoff were off on both side. Not even. Both cutoff were slanted or sloped pointing in and down. May be a hit and miss with those light. End up going oem retro. No regret.

I have yet the need for highbeam eventhough it is bi-xenon, there's plenty of light with low beam ON.

I just got a tundra and I am very surprised at how bad the headlights are...and it's the 1794...2017. So im looking for upgrades. did you do your retrofit or did lightwerkz do it? (im assuming the latter since you mentioned them above).

I had lightwerkz did the work. Turns around was about 3wks. They were out of the clear lense the week my headlights showed up at their facility. But once they starts, it only take 2-3days to complete. Well worth it. What i would do is ask them what they recommend for a complete plug 'n play kit. I already had the morimoto elite hid kit in my procession, so i chose to mix and match.
Whatever you do, do NOT get the morimoto D2S igniters. They are bulky and very tight fitting once mounted on the truck. There are no wiggle room as the igniter sit flat against the frame. I will see if i can find some photos. I would get lightwerkz premium amp adapter and morimoto igniters. They are slimmer and smaller. This way it wont rub against the frame of the truck, safety thing..

See pix below. Notice the square solver piece with the braided wire on it?
That is the morimoto D2S igniter. See how tight it is against the frame? Yeah, that's a NO, NO..

So if you decides to go with morimoto hid kit. Then you will need, morimoto HD wiring harness, morimoto ballast, morimoto igniters and lightwerkz premium amp to d2s adapters and d2s bulb.
    https://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php/premium-amp-d2s-ballast-adapter-90-degree.html

But you decides to use anything else, then i would ask them. But make sure you use the premium amp to d2s 90degrees adapter. Because of it's size, it wont rub on the frame of the truck.

    Hope that helps.

Also, ive been reading on the Hyluxtek ballast, they are a little higher ($90 a pair) then morimoto, but seems to have a much better quality. I already have to replace 1 morimoto 35w ballast under warranty and it's only been less then months with only less then a month of total usage. So, i would look into the hyluxtek offer by lightwerkz. Hylux have the igniter build inside the ballast.
