ok so a about 3 weeks ago I decided to upgrade from my 2008 Toyota Tacoma trd sport longbed
I bought it on 2008 brand new 8 years later 109xxx miles later I felt like I needed something bigger so I sold it I got 18k for it I loved that truck I went out and got the 2016 Tundra Crewmax 5.7 I couldn't be happier so much more power and so much more room inside now the fun begins so far just changed out headlights interior lights fog lights and tinted windows now im looking to change out the wheels/tires/lift just trying to decide what size to go with looking for some ideas let me know what you guys think?? I was thinking of Fuel or XD as far as rims but what size?

I sold my Tacoma two weeks ago and then bought a Tundra as well.
I definitely hated to part ways. 06' 162,xxx
Loaded with leather, nav, backup camera, 3" lift , body mount chop, 33"s, led's and so on.

The tundra has a leveling kit on it, and just about as many upgrades.
But I plan to take off the step sides and change the rims to something black.

I did about the same thing you did in moving from a Taco to a Tundra. I went to the Tundra to get a wider bed to fit my toys into, I just couldn't do it very well with the Taco because of the narrower bed even though it was the same length as the new 16 Limited DC Tundra.

What puzzles me about you choice of the Crew is that the bed is shorter than the Taco you had previously. You must not haul anything? I just love backing up the new Tundra to the hillside from which I load my toys into the bed, I just center them to the centerline of the bed & drive right into it without having to concern myself with hitting the humps of the wheelwells.

With the Taco I had to load my lawn tractors in a hit or miss fashion that was well off the centerline of the bed because the grassshoot on one side of the tractor sticks out almost a foot from the edge of the blade deck, pain in the ass bending over to pull up the grassshoot on a moving tractor because I didn't guess right the first time how much offcenter of the bed I needed to be when driving stuff into the bed.

I actually do tow I have a boat and a trailer I was able to pull them with the taco but with this 5.7 its should be a piece of cake..
a few things as you mentioned why they went with a 5.5ft bed instead of 6ft and why no power outlets in the bed? and why doesn't the back seats fold down for more storage

What kind of wheels are those? And size? Might be interested in taking them off your hands if you decide to change them

Oh yeah, I've seen ballistic wheels on tundras. Jesters and Morays.
You just have to look/search for the right bolt pattern

Congrats on the new Tundra. Here's my recently upgraded 2015 tundra with DPR 18x9 rims with Toyo 275/70/18 and readylift 2 1/2" level kit. Could not be happier.

Center cap is no longer provided. No one wants center cap look with these. You won't see these on any truck but the Tundra.

That's a really nice looking piece of machinery there. I'm still trying to figure out what upgrades I want to do on my 16 Limited. Just love the nonboxy appearance of Tundra compared to the unimaginative boxy look of Silverado or Ford.

I think rock sliders will be the first upgrade, I like the added protection I think I'll get from those swinging doors in parking lots, plus I want something that will also function as a running board. I paid quite a bit of extra money for the 20" wheels on the Limited, so I won't do anything with those. Then maybe a remote start or some kind of retractable bed cover not of the soft variety, I've seen a few online that look interesting, but for the time being I need to recover the shock to my checkbook when I paid cash for this thing after saving for 3 years to finally get a really nice 1/2 ton & never to have to worry about monthly payments.

    On the tundra? 20"s
Not even sure of the brand yet as I haven't paid much attention, but I'd be open to selling them.

On the Tacoma those were 17"s moto metals
