We're talking Lone Pine, but it says Sedona. How far back do I have to look for that one? I wanna go.

I thought y'all are going to Joshua Tree in November.

I guess I'd better get caught up in here.

I did look into the thread on that. It does specifically say it's a "bro meet". So, if I sneak in, I may have to.... un, I dunno. Drink more? Not shower? Insult my friends-? What does this mean exactly?!:angrygirl:

I might end up doing a day trip to J-Tree this month, just not sure when. I'll post in here once I have a game plan, but it might not be a big group given the short notice.

This weekend we went back out to the Fish Creek area to take care of some unfinished business from our Shenanigan trip. We explored the Arroyo Tapiado mud caves, Diablo Drop-off, and hit Blow Sand again. Not a lot in the way of pictures.

Hahaha I don’t recall that exact message, but chances are it’s a joke because the desert attracts the “bros”.
It’s really a lot of fun, and make sure to save and bring your Xmas tree as we burn them in a huge fire!

As for J-Tree, with the rain they got a lot of the park and trails are closed. Make sure to look into that in advance before you head out there.

Thanks for the reassurance. I hope, if I can get the new truck ready in time to check it out, I won't be the only gal out there. But I guess it wouldn't be the first time.

As for JT, I'll wait for the new truck before exploring out there alone. If a group does get going, I'd be more likely to join in after the first of next year.

As for whatever SoCal party y'all might put together, I'm working a ton of OT this month; we're headed out of state for Thanksgiving next month, and will attend a big campout with a bunch of strangers :)rolleyes: who would DO that?!!) in December.

So... I'll tune in after Christmas. Hey, if Owens Valley (Lone Pine) is too cold or too far for that week after Christmas, could we meet farther south, @Marty McFly? @nishibot @anyoneelseinsocal Idyllwild maybe.... We seldom get real snow around here.

There will be other ladies for sure! Don’t know how many lady drivers though lol

What needs to be done to the new-to-you Tundy?

Tons of OT? Tundra mods be rolling in no time! Have a fun trip next month

Ooh, I forgot you posted snowy pictures of Idyllwild last year....

I think I'm going to wind up parked, with RTT deployed, in @Marty McFly'S driveway. :transformer: We can stack both sides of his 'hood with big-assed Tundras :muscleflexing:, have a regular citified puppy shower, then everyone head back to their own homes to drink beer.:crapstorm:

All new suspension and tires!!
    but :spending:.

Can you weigh in on tires? Dedicated trail and rock runner, but long drive on roadway to get to dirt.

If you want the most aggressive:
BFG KM3 or Cooper STT Pro are both awesome tires, but very aggressive.
    Pro: Best traction
Con: Decreased life, increased road noise

    Right in the middle:
Nitto Ridge Grappler or Toyo RT (these are what I run, and incredibly happy with)
Pro: great traction, some road noise but not bad, better life than an MT but less than an AT
Con: It's a "hybrid", in the middle, so not the best or worst at anything.

    Less aggressive:
    Falken AT3W
Pro: Longer life, quiet, smooth, good traction.
Con: Packs with mud quickly, might leave you wishing you had more traction.

^ My take on tires. These are the top options in my book. There are some other solid choices depending on what kind of a deal you can get but while I haven't had first hand experience with all of these I have seen them in action and been very happy with all of them.
I am biased towards the Toyo RT, I'm on my second set and have had zero issues with them.

Happy to be back in SoCal! Wife and I (and dog) just moved back from PDX after 2 years there. Working on changing the Tundra set-up currently. Had a camper shell and decked drawers to sleep inside in the constant PNW rain. Sold that and now thinking about moving to a bed rack/RTT combo. Waffling between a softopper and having a custom rack made over it or getting a kbvoodoo/RCI type. Have Kings sitting in my garage that I bought months ago and still haven't put on. UCAs and a leaf pack (dakars probably) need to be ordered. Anyway...

    @Sunnier
I was going through pictures, the Toyo RT tires also flex very well.

    This was at 17psi
    006A181C-2216-47DA-B05F-2083A5B2AE51.jpg

    And this was at 20psi
    C0E060A7-9DA6-49A7-89AD-E18DA084BFAE.jpg

Of course it also has to do with load, there’s pictures I have which show less flex because there wasn’t as much pressure on the corners as there are in these two examples. Very situational based, but also happy with how they flex and contour to the ground/obstacle.

I have been a huge fan of my Cooper ST Maxx's. I think they're the best tire in the 'tweener' category between AT and MT. If not for these I would give the Toyo RT's a try.

    Dang. What size?

I really liked those tires, but I’ve had several friends slice sidewalls on them. Also the duratracs, seen the same thing.
I’m glad they’re working for you! Seems like it could be a hit or miss thing, or maybe they just continually hit rocks with bad lines haha.

That's crazy. I have hit some stuff pretty hard on the tires and there isn't a mark. *knocks on wood*
