Signed. I had mine fixed under warranty, but this is a major job if you're out of warranty. Like $3k I think the dealer told me.

I have a 2008 and just today had Toyota diagnose. They charged me $150.00 to confirm that it was the Cam tower seal. They wanted to charge me $2000.00 to fix it. I said heck no and am taking it to another shop. This is ridiculous and Toyota should just take responsibility for the issue. Any updates on this petition? Thanks!

30k miles so far and no issues however signed. If this happened to me out of warranty I'd almost want to try an LS swap or something. hahaha

Signed, does this happen to the 2018 still? If it does, it would suck balls! I sold my Chevy to avoid any stupid crap like this (and it hasn't had any problems) just to see Toyota have some stupid crap like this is unbelievable!

Interested in what you find. I wonder how long the supposedly repair will last the vehicle to.

In order to ensure that signatures aren't spammed require that the owner add the last 8 digits of the VIN#. This will allow Toyota the ability to check National Service history to see did the vehicle actually have a problem that was repaired.

I have a 2007 SR5 with the 5.7 with 68,500 miles and the truck has been babied and the drivers side tower has a small leak. I’m not going to mess with it til it’s worse I don’t have that kind of coin laying around to fix it. I just had a small drip and haven’t noticed any usage in between oil changes.

Welp, Passenger side was resealed now and a day and a half back from the dealer my truck went into limp mode with a misfire so the engine is being torn down again. last update was that there may be debris in some of the oil passages. not bad for 6500 miles!

I womder how much of thos toyota would cover for us 2nd gen owners just because engins leak all the time my 08 does have it also I just looked yesterday but I have never lost any oil. It is a very small leak idk if it would even be anything to worry about. A machanic buddy told me it was nothing unless it leaks alot but idk I can understand the brand new trucks for sure .

I called Toyota corporate about my cam tower leak, just taking a chance that they might do something about it wit a rebate or maybe a break on the price of fixing it but it was a no go. And mine has been treated like a baby and only has 68,500 miles on it. My truck goes under the knife the 28th of this month and the estimate was around $2700. This sux
