Give them lots of praise and encouragement for learning and practicing and knowing driving laws and good common sense. We tend to lack in that department at that age, i admit i was there once, and i wanted my parents to trust me and know i would be ok so i could go out!!

Exactly. My wife wants to get her something smaller. I want her to drive the Sequoia. I just don’t want her to drive my truck as of yet. Some day. Working my way up to it. The Sequoia is sort of our sacrificial vehicle. We take it to the places where we don’t worry about door dings.

Tried to wave at a nice newer Tundra the other day. Instead he cuts me off. Turms out it's a teenager. Young kids ... Instead of comradery it's to see who is more badass. So sad and disappointed.

I know the feeling. I notice taco owners just stare , actually a lot of tundra owners do as well. Even when I straight up wave right at their face. Staring blankly as I drive-by.

This is how it feels like I’m being looked at when I wave.

no waving in Denver, but where I live in the mtns west of Denver, we all wave to each other regardless of the vehicle driven, usually the 2 finger wave :)

My 14 yo daughter is learning to drive our 99 camry on the dirt mtn roads around us, it is amusing to me wondering what obstacles she will see and react too, will she steer around a large rocky knob in the road or a turn away at the last minute from the steep drop off as the car heads toward them, the knob no, I have a new exhaust system now, the drop off yes, LOL

My daughter also had her first driving lesson yesterday. I took her to one of my construction sites (a future grocery store and parking lot) so there is 20 acres of open graded land with no serious obstructions. I drew squares on the ground and have her park with different wheels in it so that she can get a feel for where the vehicle and wheels are. This was a luck shot on her second try.

She is way too nervous to think about waving!
    (Sorry, we derailed your thread)
Back to waiving, I look at every other Tundra and wave a one or 2 finger wave if I see them looking my way, but most don't seem to care.

Had a guy in a black gen 3 crewmax wave at me on 78 in Universal City a couple months ago. First time I had ever been waved at so it caught me off guard. If you're on here dude,

I learned to drive at a very young age. First on the lawn mower, then a 4-wheeler, then a tractor, then my dad's stick shift dually. If I ever have kids, that's how I'm teaching them because I'm extremely grateful for my parent's helping me learn that way.
