VDC Sealant

Does anyone know what VDC approved sealant is? If so what brand is the best? I am installing the power tail gate lock for my 2015 Tundra and it wants VDC approved sealant. What does everyone recommend. Thanks.

 

What the hell would it be sealing? I have the pop and lock on my truck and I don't recall having to use any sealant. Just make sure you lube up the linkage. I also used some Dynomat to help with the echo of the lock inside the tailgate and used a little bit underneath the actuator where it bolts down, to help quiet it.

 

You have to cut a slit in the grommet going into the cab. And it wants you to re-seal it. I am also installing the led bed lights.

 

Ohhh I see. I used a dab of automotive silicon and a zip tie around the nipple/grommet. Im sure the zip tie would have been sufficient.

 

My instructions showed it going into the firewall on the passenger-side just behind the the Ecm i think.
