What’s everyone’s opinion on selling items on Craigslist? Does anybody scour CL for tundra parts? My experience has been very limited several years ago and literally 9 out of 10 offers were scam.

I've never had any luck selling anything on CL but a buddy of mine sells crap on there all the time. Ebay is getting bad on scammers too. They'll create a fake account, message you about an item saying something to the effect of their husband is interested and to call some phone number. Then they delete the account so it can't be reported or anything.

I sell on Craigslist all the time. I always make sure to state cash only, in person transaction only. And I delete any messages without responding that look scammy.

I won't sell on eBay anymore. Fees are outrageous and they don't protect sellers with their policies.

I sell stuff on CL every once in a while. You'll undoubtedly get scammers trying to contact you but they're very easy to spot if you have any common sense at all.

CL can be painful sometimes, but I clearly state cash only, transaction will take place at my local police station which has a “safe exchange zone”, etc.

I will buy from ebay, but will not sell anymore. I tried to sell my 94 Yota on there and went through three assholes who just wanted to jerk me around despite the terms of the sale. One jerk wanted to come test drive the truck first! I ended up selling it on CL.

CL has become horrible. I can't even find stuff anymore, just turns up spam.

There are better, more controlled apps now. Let go is pretty decent for example.

Hit n miss. Ive sold a few things and bought a few things. Scammers are easy to spot. Just recently i was going to go see an RTT and we had a meet time and location, i headed out there but no response to texts. Bad vibes so i said F it, didnt bother trying again.

I cant tell you how many times ive had cases at work where usually the person buying an item gets robbed at gunpoint, so always do exchanges in public or even local police stations offer lobby area for exchanges. Just be smart about it i guess

CL has been hit or miss for me. Like others say, cash only in a VERY public place and only during daylight hours. If I'm selling a vehicle it'll be at my bank only.

    A lot of flakes though.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
I think Craig's List buying and selling is ok, I've had good interactions, and bad ones. It's like throwing dice. Sometimes your lucky and other times your not. "Always be aware of your surroundings" while interacting on, with Craig's List. My 2 cents.

I've had good luck. The scams can be entertaining. Like said, they are easy to spot.

I got my TRD wheels from a CL add. Came with tires with very little wear. I basically got a free set of tires to wear out.

My RCSB Tundra, OEM alloy wheels, and Michelin tires were all found locally on CL.

Selling on CL presents more of a challenge.

CL is crazy living in Los Angeles area. I had one dude inquire about some old school tires i was selling. He was sooo adamant on getting them that he wanted to meet up within the hour I posted which was about 11:30PM. That seemed quite odd to me so I told him the next day. Then he kept messaging me so I told him we could meet at a designated parking lot which I always designate as the Local Sheriff's station. Needless to say, he never responded after that ... oh well, I only do exchanges there since I know the parking lot is heavily monitored with lots of foot traffic.

Nowadays, its always FB Marketplace for me. My wife turned me onto it and you can see the profile of the person contacting you. You can see how long the account has been active and if they post regularly and have decent amount of friends. That is always a good indication of "real accounts" ... especially if they are active on FB with pics of families and friends. Since then I have had really good experiences with FB Marketplace. Just FYI.

I've had pretty good luck with Craigslist recently, bought wheels and sold my old ones about two weeks ago through there. I always call the scammers out on it, they quit responding after that
