Wanting to let the pups ride in the backseat of my doublecab after I fold the seats up. Is there anything out there I can put down to keep the hair from getting everywhere? One is a little rowdy and wont lay down in the bed or I would let em ride back there. Any other options? Would be nice if I could find a protector for the panels below the windows as well since they like to let their ears flop in the wind.

This is mine. Set up for the dogs to be on the seat. Custom made from a canvas tarp, a piece of PVC, wire ties and a few grommets.

As far as the hair goes, good luck. After your truck gets full of hair, I find a leaf blower or blow gun attachment from my compressor and open all the doors works pretty well to get most out.

I like the back seat protection and the dog still rides in the bed haha.

I have a German Shepard, all it does 24/7 is shed. When I parked the new 16 Tundra in the garage for the first time last month & dropped the tailgate the mutt bounded up into the bed with almost no effort, then tuned around & looked at me as if to say "thank you for the new toy". Next day I bought a big cage & the dog loves it riding back there. You should see the hair inside that bed after only a short trip of a few miles, it's everywhere, there's no better solution & there's no clean up.

I found that a fitted queen size mattress sheet fits perfectly around the back seats in my CM. Doesn't get rid of the dog hair but protects the seats and easy to clean. Whatever hair I don't get with the shop vac I just get it with a large lint roller. What gets me is the drool.. My dog likes to stick his head out the window which then causes the drool to splatter back into the cab or when we aren't moving it drips down the door and into the speaker guard lol which sucks cleaning lol.

Yep, I know what you mean, another reason I bought the big cage, so that everything I don't want to be bothered with cleaning up instantly finds itself back into the wild kingdom beyond the bounds of the inside of my truck. My wife has to ride in the truck from time to time & doesn't like sharing her clothes with those of the dog.

For my lab, I just bought a cheap rear seat cover from Wally World. Between that and the center console cover, he doesn't get anything dirty.

He was just in the bed in the driveway. This is what my backseat normally looks like.

Some good ideas so far, probably gonna look into a cover similar to that one Over The Line.

Found this one searching around online, seems to be comparable to what you made, and relatively cheap to try out.

Heres my boys: The one on the right is the only one that rides in the truck anymore. Big boy on the left is too old/lazy to jump nowadays.

This is what mine is made from. My dogs are often wet and muddy. This type tarp is very water resistant. I use PVC across the front because I found that the commercially available "slings" will not hold the weight of even one Lab. The grommets tear out. The PVC spreads the load. My dogs have ridden all over the country in slings like these.

I took a semi-new moving blanket and cut/sewed a few holes in it myself. This was my first attempt at sewing, so it was a good practice piece to work with...granted it was big and bulky to work with, but I managed.

See below: the diagonal black line, I plan on cutting and sewing a zipper there for the center seat belt to pass through so if I wanted to put my dog center I have the option to do so.

I have Kurgo waterproof hammock (found on Amazon) for the back seat. Attaches easily to the front and rear headrests and is quickly removable for passengers or cleaning. Keeps him from trying to get up front if I run in somewhere. He loves it.

Gonna have to look into that one, looks similar to the ones I have been seeing. How do the straps that go around the headrests hold up?

So far so good. Had it for about 4 months, no visible wear.

Anyone tried putting a Great Dane in the backseat?image.jpg
I've got this giant loser to deal with now. She hasn't been in the truck yet but I know she sheds her little black hairs everywhere and those on a grey seat won't mix well

I know how ya feel, my oldest is a wolf/malamute hybrid.

Idk what I would do without swiffer sweepers for the house. My tile/wood floors shed a layer of fur everyday while I'm at work.
