Hello guys new on here ,have a double cab looking to do the toy tech 3/1 or 3/2 lift . I do have a question on my 2018 tundra . since I got it there is a kind of a pop noise as you about to drive off it happens at about 6 to 7 mph then goes away . I called the dealer on it they told me it’s a abs calibration noise and there no fix from Toyota on this , that’s bs never felt or heard that noise in a new vehicle before have u guys ever hear of anything like this on a tundra.

That is what I was told which sounds like bs! This sound doesn’t sound normal to me , gmc, Ford ,ram, and Tacoma don’t have this stupid noise as if something wrong with the truck wondering if anyone has encountered this noise and is there a fix to it.

Well it happens, and there isnt a fix. It really isnt that big of a deal. I suggest if you are so embarrassed and bothered by it, stop at a dealership and trade it in. For the record we ALL have encountered this and have chosen to live with it cause it isnt an issue.

I thought this pop noise only happens when you first take it out of Park? I keep forgetting to listen for it, that’s how unobtrusive it is to me.

welcome, I'm new too, just bought my 2018 last week and I haven't heard the noise you're talking about, but I think tomorrow morning I'm going to leave the door open when I start it to see if I hear the noise. seems like from the comments it's not a bad thing, it's just the truck doing a self check... cool!

4 hours? wow! I admit, there is a lot of pride in doing a job well yourself, but for that level of cleaning I like the handwash shoppe down the road and I'm back to my weekend leisure time an hour later! ;) You should have seen the look on the faces of the BMW Stealership when I brought it in for a free cleaning after driving to Ohio and back through snow and all kinds of muck. That took a couple hours... LOL!!!! :D

Welcome! It's normal...it happens to all of us. I have a 2014 and it does it. It's a self check. Don't worry so much about it. Just because "the big three" don't do it doesn't mean anything. Different engineering.
You don't need your door open to hear it lol. Turn the radio off when you first start up your truck. When you are some where around 7-10mph it'll do it. It's honestly nothing to worry about though. It's a self check honestly.

Thanks for the input , I know it’s not a drivable problem or a serious issue just find it hard to accept that Toyota would have an abnormal noise in one of the their vehicles and that’s ok by them . it’s a bit disappointing to me . Didn’t have any noises in my Gmc Serria before I decided to switch to the Tundra I just going blame my son then since he got me into the Toyota fever his Tacoma 3” lift pretty bad ass no issues....not going to kill this anymore will continue to follow up with them ...etc .thanks for all input everyone ..... next topic will be 3/1 or 3/2 lift kit from Toy Tech coilovers ....
