Doug & I've got Toyotas on my back, well actually I don't even have a truck at the moment & some of you may know me from TW... ANYWAY, soon my wife & I will be relocating to either N. Az. or back to Northern Nevada, in any event I'll be pulling a 30ft toy hauler type of trailer & I'm thinking 1st gen Tundra with V8 will be ok for a 8000lb tow It's got to be 4x & preferrably TRD...

I've got a 2014 Camry that's got 16k miles on it, was barely driven by an 85 year old man (fatherNlaw) it has auto everything, lots of bells & whistles, I would love to sell &/or trade for truck have clean title in hand...

Looking forward to learning from you guys about the Tundras like I learned about Tacomas on TW

    Dougy!

You'll be overloaded with 8k tow. A first gen 4x4 double cab is only 6700 lb tow capacity. I did about an 8k tow one time with my old first gen when I moved and it was a pain in the ass coming up the Sierras.
That said...trailer with brakes, WD hitch, and patience, it's doable. But not recommended.

Ok, i'm thinking 2nd gen covers years 2007-2012 maybe ? Even close ? haha the bigger 5.7 may be the ticket

Welcome to Tundras. You were very close, 2nd gen is 07-13. I agree a 2nd gen with the 5.7 won't disappoint. It should manage that load a bit better than a first gen, though I do love the first gens!

    Good luck shopping.
