I purchased a set of coachbuilder +2 shackles and 2 sets of shims quite a while back. I installed the shackles right away, but she sits pretty level even with the new shackles. I was expecting a little rake to her, but it almost seems like there was no effect.

I noticed while looking more closely at her that the springs a virtually flat, which seems odd to me. Am I missing something here? Are your leaf packs flat?

She isn’t very old (2017 Pro), and barely ever tows anything or carries any weight, I would think those springs should have some curve to them no?

There are a few pics in my album, but here is one with the +2’s...

3-1 level kit with add a leaf. 295/70/18r cooper max. Spider head light tail light and third brake light, tint, badges off, ladder racks, trd pro grill, color matched hood bulge, grab handle, coach builder +2, dv8 front bumper with winch, fender flares, bed cover....
I am not happy with the springs. I do load a lot but they’re pretty worthless in my opinion. If you don’t row I’d look at like an addition pack for them icon or someone. Or go all the way with a new custom set. I’ve added an aal and tried helped springs. Only a temporary fix in my opinion

I have the pro suspension and it sits level and at times looks like it has bro lean. Yours looks to have more rake than mine does. 1.25” is not that much. Depends on the surface it’s parked on.

I may be wrong but I remember reading that the +2 CB shakes add 1" of lift? Ever pro ibhave seen looks level, a look I'm not a fan of. I like some rake to trucks. Maybe the shims also added and inch lift which would leave it as level as stock.
As far as the leaf springs, mine have a slight curve but I think I read the pro has softer read leafs. Maybe that's not true but it would explain why yours look flat. Every toyota truck I have had, has had pretty flat leaf springs. My Tacoma I had the pack replaced via a TSB and they were still flat and bottomed out with 400lbs in the bed

Shackles are tricky, I would never run any shackle more than 3/4” lift. It’s simple, the longer shackle when cycled stretch the leaf further than designed, and boom flat spring. Most who sell such trinkets will disagree, but that is how it works.

I have the +2 shackles and 1” shim on my 17pro. There is a slight rake. I also took note that my springs are close to being flat. Was thinking about getting a different set all together but I don’t know where to start. Don’t want to change the look of my truck but was thinking the same about it doesn’t seem right springs laying almost flat.

+2 shackles give 1.25” inches lift.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure but did remember that the +2,+4 etc, the number after the + did not mean inches of lift

No worries, I only know because I own them. Otherwise, I’m leaning as I go.

    I appreciate the feedback.

I guess I left a little out in my original post. I never did install the shims, she looked about level already without them.

I’d actually like a touch of rake, and as she sits, it almost sometimes seems the opposite is true and she squats a little.

I went with the +2’s as I had read (I believe here somewhere) that you don’t want to go much more than that with the pro suspension.

I guess my question is this, how would I best approach bringing up the rear a couple inches without mucking things up mechanically?

Are your shocks ok ? Reason I ask is we have the same model year TRD Pro also have the same +2 shackles, the only difference is I have the 1” inch shim and you don’t. My truck has slight rake but yours doesn’t. Could there be other problems with something in the rear suspension?

Shocks won’t affect ride hight. But you could be right about something going on. Measurements don’t lie. You guys should measure from dead center of the wheel to fender on all 4 corners and compare.

    FD side 7.5”

    FP side 7.5”

    RD side 8.25”

    RP side almost 8.5”

I do have a full tank of gas, so the slight discrepancy in rear height makes sense.

No center of the rim. Just so you guys can compare That would be the only thing consistent between the two trucks. That way tire size isn’t an issue.

Will check tomorrow, a cold rain just started and f that for now. I’m no mechanic but something sounds off.
