I have a friend that works at that dealer who is a salesman. If you want his info let me know. I’ll give him a heads up if you do.

HAHAHAHAHA what makes you think a new tundra won't blow a rack???

At T2S this year we had two 3rd gen tundras blow a rack within 15 min of each other. One was doing a u turn, the other was doing in a straight line on a flat trail.

    NO! Absolutely not!
The sub is small and crappy, speakers are paper still, and to upgrade to aftermarket speakers and amps is more costly due to having to buy a sound processor ($250-300).
Do not buy a truck based on the 'JBL` entune. Now the cooled seats in the platinum and 1794 is very nice item that I use almost daily. At least in 14-17s, the platinum and 1794 were the only models with cross traffic sensors in the rear bumper.
Have someone here in SA that went from a 17 Pro to an 18 1794 and he said his insurance went down $10 a month do to the extra safety features.

I think he’s looking at a safer option as labor and parts would be warrantied for a while.

Sean has a friend there too. He wasn’t available yesterday, his friend wasn’t available so I ended up with a guy named Alex G. He seems like he will be a good one to work with. We are already texting back and forth.

Does the limited have blind spot monitoring and front parking sensors also? I was thinking one of the 3 is not availible on the limited trim, unless it is an ordered optional add on

    There are several reason:
    1. Warranty
    2. Expensive fix
    3. Was due for tans flush that just adds more $
    4. Long scratch on side that was bugging me, more $ to fix.
    5. Rear end work from accident

Man I love this truck though. It’s hard making this decision.

Engineers are funny. Always have to rationalize stuff. Just admit you want a shiny new truck. I do.

btw, I'm an engineer and I always overANALize too

I think i am going to go with the sport for the hood scoop and color matched everything and just get custom Katzkin seats. That way i can add some other extras as well like deck rail system, hood and fender paint protective film and spray on bed liner and still be under the cost of the platinum

Trying to figure out what i would miss out on if i did that.

IDK.... if you are talking about financing... assuming your credit is good... doesn’t seem like much difference in financing $20,271 and $23,600... BUT... sounds like you’d have to wait for the Pro... ugh.. tough call... GOOD LUCK!

You can get Entune Premium on the SR5 but no JBL. You put up some good reasons for an upgrade.
For +$1948, I would go with the Pro. It comes with more exclusive leather, trim and suspension. The nonfunctional hood scoop would not sway me towards the Sport.
Either way, the upgrade will be well worth it. Just don’t get white. I really hope Toyota brings back green as an option.

    There is another option....

Trade down to a first Gen,parts and labor will be much less...and you’ll get some cash in the process

    Hint hint lol

    Just kidding

JBL sounds good in my 2018 camry for a stock system. now Entunes sucks and Toyota started replacing it with CarPLay/android auto (19 avalon, 19 camry..) so eventually entunes will be gone very soon.

If you go platinum, as far as I know theres no wood grain, unless that changed in 2018. And they have every other feature you want other than black mirror caps and handles, which are easily accessible here for sale or trade. I love my platinums features

Someone posted a link to a blue 2015 platinum for $28k here recently. It's in Texas and has 108k miles I think. Seems like a great price.
Edit...this truck has black mirrors but chrome handles so one thing is done. It has 102k miles and nice wheels already, spray in liner, oem color matched everything and also a nice tonneau...its 1/2 the price of a new platinum which allows you lots of mod money!!

Color matched are $227.27 for crewmax.

    Black are ($28.59 + $9.83+ $12.57) * 4 = $203.96

    Good catch.

Any reason why I should not get a 2018 instead of the 2019?
Both brand new with only a few miles.
    Can get the 18 cheaper.
