Beautiful truck! What brought you up to KC? I lived down in Arizona for about a year last year and miss it terribly, although not the PHX metro area. If I were to do it over again I would go to Prescott or Flagstaff.

    Thanks!

We moved out to KC for work. I work for the government (Air Traffic Control).

I do miss AZ and all the wonderful land. I’m not much of a fan of the cold so the winter will probably be terrible for myself.

But we are in Overland Park which is really nice. We are actually enjoying it. There are definitly worse places to be!

Prescott is wonderful. We lived in Page, AZ for some time. That is heaven on Earth!

Added a Skid Row front skid plate yesterday. Great fitment. Luckily it was a “scratched” unit making it discounted! :bananadance:

No 700lb coils. After getting the shim installed, I’m liking the way it sits. But I’m sure 700lb coils will be in the future after these 650lbs have had enough.

We will see how the front handles once I get going on some more trails and have some big hits. I have only been on one trip since the switch and it was some easy trails...

    Yes. 650lb Springs!

Went wheeling this weekend and the front did great with the added CB Shim and the new leafs! Now just need to bump up to 34s and call it good...

Haha, good to hear! We are going to have almost identical rigs pretty soon. I’m planning to pull the trigger on ICON 2.5’s et, cdcv for the rear with AG Deaver pack and flip kit soon. Then a set of 285/75r17 ST Maxx’s. Going to be an expensive new year. :spending:

Ohhh snapppp!! Heck yeah brother! I can’t decide on tires. But I’m loving those STT Pros... hmmm...

Are you set in stone on the Icon 2.5s for the rear? I was set on those but now I’m debating on going with Fox’s Universal 10” 2.0s. I wanna say that ICONs 2.5s only have 9” of travel. (Which is the limiting factor with the Deaver AG Pack). Plus the 2.0s are $700-800 cheaper...

    Any thoughts?

But also, if you plan on getting a heavy bumper and winch do the 700lb Springs. But if not, the 650 will be just fine!

I would go with the Pros if it wasn’t going to see as many highway miles as I have planned. I plan on trips to CO, UT, MT, WY and NM so I think the Maxx’s will have plenty of grip but will last longer and not chip like I’ve heard the pros do.

I’ve done a lot of reading the last two days and have changed my mind multiple times between ICON, ADS and fox. I’m 95% sure I wand digressive shocks with the type of wheeling I do and all the additional weight I will have. Plus better road manners, I guess. I’ve looked into the fox 10” but they’re only 2.0’s and I really want 2.5’s with the bed rack, tepui and all the gear. Plus the adjustability of the cdcv is a...plus. ADS has rear 2.5’s but no adjustability. Damn you Riley! Now you have me rethinking everything again!
I plan on a plate bumper and winch down the road so I’ll keep the 650’s for time being and then swap out for 700’s probably when I rebuild them. I’d like to see if a shop could add a remote reservoir for the front but that’s just a pipe dream.

Yeah I’ll have to look into the MAXXs. A kid I went wheeling with yesterday has them and speaks highly of them and they did perform well...

Yeah don’t worry I haven’t made up my mind either. I thought forsure I would go with 2.5s before I got my AG Deaver Pack, but the Deavers help so much with the suspension the 2.0s I’m sure are so happy to have less work to do than before.

But I like to go fast and try to keep up with the guys I wheel with (SGU) and the 2.5s would be nice for the speed / woops / etc.

I do agree the CDCV would be quite awesome in the rear. But it is quite sad they don’t have a resi / CDCV option for the fronts.

Yeah that’s interesting. I wonder if Icon or a suspension shop could add the resi without too much trouble? Have you looked into that a bit?

I emailed ICON and they said “custom fabrication will be required in order to have a reservoir added to that vehicle because production parts will not give enough clearance for a reservoir.”

I’m sure it can be done, just not sure if a shop would be willing to tackle it. My thoughts are that I will proceed with the reservoirs when I rebuild them. By then I should definitely know if I need them or not.

Ive heard nothing but good things about the Maxx’s and they measure out to be a true 34” tire. That is a sweet taco!

Interesting. Doesn’t make much sense to me seeing just about every other vehicle has them available. Ours couldn’t be too far away from the Tacoma’s...

But honestly, mine have held up for over 1.5yrs of a good amount of abuse and highway miles. No leaks of any kind... Not too sure it’s necessary but would help keep the temps down.

Ahh good to know. I’ve still have quite a bit of tread left to warrant buying any new tires but have started some research. I was originally wanting 315/70/17s but that’ll require too much work and will be unessary width / height. The 285/75s seem reasonable without having to chop into the firewall. I’ve already done away with the pinch weld and wheel well liners. I get a slight slight rub at full lock on the driver side on the frame. But I don’t think it’s enough to warrant the use / risk of wheel spacers (even though I wouldn’t mind the added stance)...
