BOSS or OME?

    Ok guys, I have a rough country 3/1 spacer level lift. (Yes, I'm aware that wasn't the best idea) one upside is my trucks a 2WD, and I don't go off-roading except for the occasional trail to my hunting camp that has few potholes. I'm planning on getting some shocks in the next year or so. I've narrowed it down to OME 614 and Toytec BOSS 3". Which of these do you think is the better product all around? And as for the UCA's, my lift right now doesn't seem to cause problems with my alignment or any rubbing so I shouldn't need any aftermarket UCA's right?

    Apples and oranges. OME is great for what you pay for. Boss is great for what you pay for it too. Depends on your budget.

    OME is a good product. They are not adjustable to any height like the boss kit is. I installed the Boss kit not to long ago and love it. My recommendation is the Toytec Boss kit.

    OME is a solid lift, but if you want solid + comfort go with the BOSS kit...they're also having a 10% off sale for the Holiday...

    OME is a heavy-duty set-up, used by so many off-roaders and proven itself over many years. I love my OME set-up, but ARB does not recommend OME kit for 4x2. The weight difference between 4x4 and 4x2 is roughly about 300 lbs. From what I gather, even with 612 (shortest coil), you will get around 3 & 1/2 inches in the front. (you will probably need a set of UCAs).

    Personally, if I were to do it over again, I would like to go with OME BP-51, but it's not available for Tundras. At this point, I am inclined to think they won't make it availablee for us.

    BOSS is a good kit. I also like Kings. A lot of people like Fox also. There are so many different options here and really depends on what you like.

    So that half inch will be the difference between getting an UCA and not?

    General rule is anything over a 3" lift you will need UCAs. Even with a 3" lift you wont be able to get the alignment just right so the UCAs will help re-align and make the steering more comfortable.

    I see the BOSS kit for tacomas has reservoirs, any plans for Toytec to offer the same on their Tundras rear shocks ?
