Passenger side rear wheel sticks out much further than driver's side

So my passenger side rear wheel sticks out much further than my drivers side rear wheel.
Is this normal? Is my rear axle out of whack?

 

Ny first gen does the same thing!! The driver side sticks out almost a whole half inch more than the pass side , mine is older, though

 

I've seen threads on this. A few people have loosened their beds and adjusted it that way. Before you do that you might wanna look at whether or not the wheels are centered in the wheel well or just check your most recent alignment numbers to be sure the axle is somewhat straight.

 

I've had a 2017 and now a 2019. They are both offset a bit to the passenger side. I try not to worry about it too much.

Same. 18 CM TRD SR5. I think they’re all like that. Pisses me off but I try not to think about it

 

I believe that it totally depends on your wheels and tires sizes. Stock wheels and tires do not stick out.

 

What rims do you have?

OMG, I noticed this the other week, intended to get dealer to do 4 wheel alignment.

Y'all say this is normal?

 

Just close one eye and squint with the other. Ive actually gone to the dealership and measured brand new ones , only to find that they actually vary . Tire sizes only hide or make the problem more noticeable. Moving the bed will just make it misaligned with the cab, so take your pick. But yes its common

 

Right but that’s just because they’re so tucked in the fender wells. So you can’t notice it most likely. Mine sticks out about a full 1” further. Not thrilled but not much I can do. Thought about maybe running a spacer on the drivers side to Even it out.

Yup, it’s normal. My bed is off center, in the other direction, and my passenger wheel still sticks out further. If I fix my bed, it’ll get even worse.

 

I heard after the 16 model they fixed that problem

 

Nope, mine is a '18, just over 3k miles.

 

My 2018 Crewmax is also like this. So were both the 2014 and 2012 F-150s I had prior to my Tundra. I guess I just assumed there was a reason for it.

 

Now that you guys have called this to my attention, I am going to look at mine, and even if it is perfectly centered, I will think it isn't and it will bug the hell out of me until I sell the truck.

Haha it bothered me at first, then didn’t worry about it, then thought I should ask just in case. It will still be in the back of my mind

 

I had a 2017 Tacoma that did the same with OEM set up and my 2018 Tundra does the same with oem set up. I was thinking it could possibly be a result of taco lean however not sure. The way I notice it most i get dirt caught up on the passenger side rear fender in a way that doesn't occur on the driver side,and of course the wheel is flush on the passenger side where the driver side is tucked in just barely. Same guy must have finished both of my trucks. Beds alignment is just slightly off.

 

Have you taken it to the dealership? If there is a defect, they should be able to let you know and also fix it. Hope that you’ll be able to get it resolved quickly.

 

Mine is very slightly to the passenger's side. It isn't perfect, but I guess it won't keep me up at night haha.

Noticed this on mine the day I was looking at it to purchase, passenger side rear sticks slightly further out. Didn’t think much about it since I looked at other tundras on the lot and all of them where like this, some more than others. Just figured it was normal..

 

It must be an intentional design by Toyota. I am 100% positive that Toyota would have a manufacturing defect as obvious as this and not do anything about it. My Tundra runs perfectly well and I don’t see anything different with the wheels being off.

 

You’re 100% positive huh? That they would have a defect like this and not do anything about it? I agree

 

I checked body-fitment and everything when I bought mine. I checked the door gaps, alignment of the bed with the cab I could tell the salesman was getting irritated since it was close to closing time, but hey, that's his job. I guess nothing is perfect. Even a Bently won't get 200,000 miles without tens of thousands of dollars in preventative maintenance.
