Engine has lower end tapping noise at warm up. Sounds like connecting rod.
    Has anyone notice this 5.7

toyota says this is emissions controller

You pretty sure it’s the bottom end and not top end?

Maybe it’s because my hearing sucks but it sounds like mine is really smooth. I hear light tapping but it doesn’t sound much different than another overhead cam engine that I’ve owned as well as my LS2 engine.

I have a engine stethoscope and after start up it’s eminating from the block
The Toyota tic sewing machine lifter tic is normal.
I had a Sienna 08 and the connecting rod was going at 80,000 mi.
I brought it to Toyota the mech said it as fine... I traded it in the same day for my Tundra. They gave me 6000 for trade...
Toy auctioned it and the people returns it week later conncting rod bearing spun .
But I hav a platinum warranty so I’m covered.

Strange that you have had two 5.7L motors with possibly the same issue.

    What oil are you using?

    Edit***

    Two Toyota motors. ***

I’m not sure why I read Sequoia.

Even with a 5.7L in a sienna, no can do.

Well I had a 22r in my first Toyota truck brand new in 88 500 grand when I sold it in 2004.
But the Sienna I traded in for the Tundra, it was a V6 and it used 0-30
Our tundras use o-20 always schedual oil changes.
The tundra drives well I get 17 in city if I don’t push it and 18.8 HW. I use 275 65 20 LT tires at 75 Psi she Moves real easy

I did read your post that’s why I corrected him when he thought you had 2 5.7 L. So I laughed because a 5.7 and a sienna minivan would be funny. Maybe “you” should reread and then comment. Thank you very much.
