You put a gen 3 on a gen 2 did it all bolt up fine and problems

 

I like it being 6’-4”

Not exactly. It does not just bolt up. I had a flexible body shop do the work. Using a 3rd gen core support top for the hood latch, grill and bumper brackets, some slight welding, some wiring for the lights, fender liners and various brackets all leads to a lingering issue with the hood safety switch being reversed (2014 and newer vs 2013 and older) and that’s about it. It looks very close to a 3rd gen even with the hood up.

 

Dang....down to the wheels! I picked mine up in NorCal like the way it looked before; long story for another post. I have plans to differentiate a little bit more. If it was as clean as yours, I wouldn’t have changed it!

 

Yea I noticed the wheels too lol I thought about looking into the front swap but since I have a third gen already I decided keep it like this, maybe some 2018 sequoia lights down the line.............

What kind of mileage does a single cab 5.7 tundra get?

 

Best city mpg I seen was in the 17’s, worst tank I had was in the 13’s but that included some passes at the track. All hand calculated, so to get high teens on the highway is possible.

 

Suprised it doesn't at least 20mpg on the highway considering its a single cab and 2wd. I guess it's still a Tundra so I guess you'd get poor mpg no matter what lol

 

I feel like if the conditions were right and you make a effort to drive granny mode, then I feel you can reach 20 mpg, but what’s the fun in that.

White mirror caps
Running board removal or paint black
Change out window shade thingy for one that isn’t attached to paint.

They didn’t make one but the parts are interchangeable.

Modding bug in progress. I know it’s not for everyone. Good thing it’s just for me!

Cleaned up the calipers...and saved a little money (about 4000 dollars) by painting then with some caliper paint.

 

Oh yah. Anyone want to buy some BBS OEM wheels? I went to 24s. I know that many people have some heartburn with this size wheel, but I think it matches the slab sided nature of our trucks. Plus, the ride quality didn’t change much.

 

I was going to try to fit my 08 badges to the fender. So now I have some melted badges. I’M WITH YOU ON THE SUPERCHARGER!

Just I bought my truck because I could run over shit, hit a pot hole, not give a damn. I'm actually going from 18" stock wheels to 17" TRD Rock Warrior wheels with some BF Goodrich white letter tires. I kind of like that monster truck tire look, lots of sidewall, fat section width, makes it look like a desert racer truck.

 

So, I still have my my old fenders. Thought I could use a heat gun to remove the badges without damaging them. (debadged several vehicles)This badge was sad. I’ve never seen plasti-chrome just peel like that! (Who knew?) I’ve since made an eBay purchase that will allow 09-13 badges to be installed on my 17 fenders...just not sure how much modding that will take.....looks like different angles.

 

Been there. If I win the lotto I’d have a fleet of the same vehicles in several configurations. I like the lifted look too.

 

Agreed, win the lotto I'd have a 1985 Toyota 4wd pickup done up all black like Marty McFly's truck. I'd also have a low rider 84-88 2wd reg cab truck with crazy custom graphics/paint, just because. Had a really nice lowered(done the right way, no cut springs) 1988 2wd, baby blue with the factory stripes down the side. Loved that truck, wish I had never sold it to a family friend. He had it another 10 years, had it repainted, seat redone, bunch of work done on it just for his idiot son to drive it into the ditch, it had 300k miles on it at that point lol.
