I can see doing this out of necessity but not when installing brand new coilovers that cost this much, and he stated that king confirmed there are more issues than possible low nitrogen

How would they know if there was air in the shock? Did it magically get built in a vacuum - if there is no nitrogen then there is just air but at very low to zero pressure. Plus when the pull the resi cap do they have a magic machine that detects the contents?

I have the same shocks just LT spec'd and have pulled them apart many times. Probably got some desk clerk on the phone that is just gonna swap them and is not a tech. But whatever.

    Exactly.

Regardless - I think I’m going to send both back, and have them swap shafts to the extended version for more travel.
I have the ones you run withOUT upper aftermarket arms, and I installed aftermarket arms after trying to fix this shit LOL.
I’m just going to do it right, send them in for longer shafts and fix the damn things.
Is what it is I guess.

Who cares man. He's getting his shock rebuilt the right way. King had acknowledged an issue other than nitrogen. It's his truck and his money. Sorry you feel like you wasted your time, but i kinda thought that's why we are all here anyway

Because it make people not want to assist and help others if they don't even take the time to listen or try what was suggested. What is the point of even trying to assist anymore. Why even post - should have just called King the first day then.

I can’t run air forever, and don’t have a local source for Nitro - so even if Nitro was the issue I still have to pull the damn thing off LOL.

Because it was just discovered I could rotate the damn resi which is apparently that issue? I’ve done every single thing everyone recommended, for 5 fucking days? I took the steps prior - from the supplier, Tundras, and now King.
    Have a fucking beer already.

You’re positive once low on nitro you can rotate the feed-line metal input portion - just like my video shows?

I think you're taking this too personally. We all offer plenty of ideas and suggestions that don't get used or even acknowledged, I know I have. I just move on, it's not a big deal in my life in the grand scheme. And I still come back here and will try to help that same person again, or take advice from them.
In my job I try to help people every day, and offer plenty of suggestions to avoid being a patient in the ER again, guess what? People come back with the same problems and I treat them again and again, doesn't bother me a bit. its life and I move on.

As mentioned several times. Hes getting longer shafts and still had the spinning reservoir issue, his buddy's ATV bench can't address those items

If so, I will take your advise and charge with Nitro. Id that doesn’t work, it’s a huge time loss for me given the location, hours, and my work schedule.

He offered solid advice, please don’t discourage his help. That said you drove it, went on hunting trip, it is very likely damaged. Probably overheated on road after 20 minutes. It’s new, needs fixed somewhere, King can’t be a bad choice. Maybe they will help out, it is a new defective shock.

So just for you guys I went home and made this little video to show you I know what I am talking about and the desk clerk at King is just that and not a tech. Took me all of less than a minute to charge the shock.

I don't think anyone questioned that you have knowledge here. It was just your reaction and taking it so personal that hes sending them back and then complaining you wasted your time. That YouTube video sure took some time, just to prove your point after he's already sending them back for longer shafts and rebuild. Talk about a waste of time. Speaking of wasting time....I'm out, heading to the detailing section

So another question why longer shafts? If they are spec'd for the Tundra then longer shafts will only damage the shock when it bottoms out on compression. You will bottom out the shock before even hitting your bumpstop.
I doubt you damaged anything with running them. The reason they were hot was without nitro the oil was cavitating and heated up. Its designed to something like 450 degrees. There was oil to lubricate the seals to prevent damage. The worst thing is the o ring is shot and it will leak nitro or oil and need rebuilt. I was only trying to get you back on the road without all the frustration and work. And to @Pudge that video took less time than writing this post to prove a point. Seriously took less than 5 min of my time. Wasted more time trying to convince to add air or nitro.
