    Thanks for the mentions guys.

Here's how I simplify this very common question:

    Stock manifolds need single exhaust.

Long tube headers need dual 3" exhaust.

Throw a supercharger into the equation and the exhaust configuration becomes user preference. Exhaust changes make less of a difference when supercharged believe it or not.

Great information. Quick question. I am wanting to do a single exhaust either dumped under the bed or exit on the passenger side before the rear wheel. If I use a straight thru muffler like a dynomax ultraflow I already have, will I lose Low end torque if I keep pipe size at 2.5"? I don't want to use the stock tail pipe at all.

I actually put dual glasspacks on my truck and dumped it right after the muffler. Haven't had any drone and it's not unbelievably loud (even though I wanted it to be) because the sound is stopped by the truck itself. If I would've continued it out the back or side, it would be louder

Leer topper, MagnaFlow, TRD CAI, TRD Hvy skid plate, and I want less chrome!
I just put on Magna Flow single out, 2.5" before the muffler and 3" aft. Took a couple of hours only because I don't leap and spring like I use to, and I did not place all of the parts close to hand.
The MF has a nice deeper sound and no drone on the highway. Pretty sure the topper holds some exhaust sound too, but still nice. Get on it and it sings out, set the cruise and it's pretty much as quiet as stock. DSCF0557.jpg DSCF0567.jpg

    Keith,

Just wondering how much of what would one lose by using the TRD dual exhaust system with stock manifolds. Are there any gains besides maybe looks and sound? Do TRD PRO Tundras use headers?

TRD dual exhaust loses low end torque.
