I'm in the market for new brakes. We tow a 9000+ LBS trailer basically daily.

What I'm trying to find out is-

Who has upgraded their brakes (pads and rotors, or full kit)

What brands do you reccomend and why

How long have you had your upgraded brakes

How do you use your truck? (Towing, hauling, off road, daily driver)
Thanks in advance guys and gals!

If you are towing that much all the time, either get the bbk and/or try to upgrade the trailer brakes to hydraulic and get a better controller.
Upgraded pads and rotors may help a bit, but that's a lot of weight.

I bet @ColoradoTJ will chime in.
(And might suggest upgrading to a diesel truck)

I've had no issue with brake fade or anything of the such. Just thinking ahead.

when I was towing 18-20K with my Ram, I went to the EBC yellowstuff pads and was really surprised at the increased bite. I did go through rotors a bit, but as long as I went with Cryo'd ones, they'd last quite a bit longer than stockers.

I do concur with upgrading the trailer brakes, they should be doing a lot of the work for your truck.

I wouldn’t spend thousands of dollars to upgrade a great system.
In the past, I have used Centric, Brembo, EBC premium rotors and brake pads designed for towing.

I replaced my rotors and pads on my 12 Tundra around 65k miles, not as much towing as you, just as heavy (if not a smidge more on occasion), and DD it. Never had a lot of complaints with the braking system on a Tundra.

Amen to that. Trailer brakes are often overlooked. My flatbed stops max loads with ease (14k LBS).
The small ones on my camper suck ass. I just max my controller out with the TT and rely on the truck for the rest.

I let my trailer anchor my braking a lot. I plan to go with a bigger brake set on the trailer (along with bigger rims and tires.) I just love by Safety first, so thinking ahead.
