so I know the blackout topic is beat to death however through all the post I’ve been able to find I can’t quite find what I’m looking for. I was wondering if anyone had any pics of a black truck with flat black replacing the chrome. I’ve seen a lot of trucks replacing chrome with flat black but not on a black truck. Trying to Get an idea so that I can decide whether I want to color match my chrome or go flat black. CC6711AD-C27E-4FE8-AD4E-D0701A5A59D6.jpg

You know, I belong to a vintage VW site, and one of the forums they have is a “photoshop my ride” type thing.

A few members are DAMN skilled at mocking up whatever you ask for- slammed, different wheels, colors, deletes, etc... I wonder if anyone on here has the time and the ability?

It would be great to have here!

I own a black tundra, I like a little chrome as well. All blacked out looks good as well. Personally, I wouldn't do it flat black.

It's a lot cheaper to Plastidip all that chrome and it ties in with the front bumper because it's also flat black but imho it's going to look the cleanest and OEM if you color match especially that you have a nice new 2018.

See Info Page DeChroming... in progress.
Same. Plastidip is going to match your middle front bumper better than flat black. It would be more of a black with satin finish. If you choose an alt route, I’d go with something that would match the middle rather than a gloss or flat... or paint the middle to match whatever you do with the end caps.

I’m in the process of dechroming my MGM using duplicolor after stripping the chrome and will be painting the middle as well.

I really like this especially with the grill surround color match makes everything blend nicely.

IMO, I'd go with color match gloss, like rest of the Tundra, if I had a black Tundra I'd go gloss that's me
