What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

That's bad ass, I actually installed a hot water spout at the maple sugar shack, we use it to clean the equipment in there and its awesome. Issue with using it to wash the cars is all the water freezes after and turns the driveway into a skating rink, which may prove to be worth it to keep my baby clean year round

 

I have a heated garage with hot water if you want to drive through 400 miles of salt to get here in the winter.

 

If I build my next house that will be a requirement!

About 10 years ago I rented a house that had a heated garage that was purpose build for washing vehicles in the winter. It was amazing. I miss it!

 

Haha the drive there wouldn't be the bad part. The drive home in the salt would kill me lol.

Not any breakthrough info here but I found just using a waterless wash spray cleans up the streaks left and just buffed it in a little more after the fact worked fine for me when I came across same issue.

 

Who doesn't love freebies, hand me downs, and second hand discounts. I'm always looking for a deal lol.

Almost looks like the bed is gonna break up off the truck behind the cab with the weight more toward tail and beyond. Theres probably a ton of pressure not only on your tailgate but also between the cab and the bed with it loaded like that hanging out off the tailgate up in the air on that angle. These trucks are beasts at towing but loading up the bed not so much. Maybe it's just the pic with the shocks compressed in rear but I'd take her easy if I was u loaded like that, anymore than that I'd consider using a trailer. That or load the bottom of the tailgate and put a blanket or something on the roof and tie up there so the load is more evenly dispersed over the length of the truck. I'd use a trailer though, even if I didn't own 1 I'd rent one.

Not saying I'm a guru, just trying to help. I've definitely done my fair share of both towing and loading up the bed. Im probably carrying more weight than most on a daily basis toward the rear of my truck and I can tell you firsthand, despite my absolute love for my truck, they are not the best with weight in the bed, especially toward the tail. Handling, braking, and stress on components all suffer with weight in bed, especially toward rear, and especially in our trucks. Just my 2 cents, I'd hate to see or hear something break on ya in addition to the tailgate. Put that shit on a trailer and u wouldn't even know anything is back there. The cost of renting a trailer is much cheaper than replacing a broken tailgate or worse. Either way, wish u luck my friend. Not knocking ya, just trying to help out a fellow member.

 

Haha thought I saw that earlier today. Soon as I read it I said to myself well u cant really miss or lose something that u never had to begin with lol. Then I saw there were a decent amount of comments, I said oh oh, those guys are gonna go nuts on this poor guy for simply even mentioning mpg. Many treat it like it's sacreligous to mention that, especially that site they can be rough at times. Here u might get a little busting of your chops but it's almost always in good fun. Over there it definitely can be much more harsh at times.

I think he's fine like that, but key words are for a bit. That's why I was just saying take her easy. I wouldn't go nuts driving around like that, which btw is my normal driving habits, I'd scale it back big time, ie take turns easy, look out for bumps and potholes, ect. I think ur correct, hes ok as long as he takes it easy, it is a truck and can do truck things, but I'm also guessing from your comment u also know shit can break. I was just trying to keep our boy from doing the same, breaking some shit, than breaking some more shit lol.

Yes stock pro suspension but I got coach builders 2 shims upfront for an extra inch and a +3 shackle for extra 1.75 in rear. Also running 1.25 spidertrax on stock pro wheels.

 

How you like the coachbuilder shackles ?

I drove like everything was gonna fall out. I’ve been hauling stuff like this for 20 years in all my trucks, never did damage any of them but this was the first time I’ve loaded up my new tundra. I was proud and scared at the same time lol. Made it to the job and everything is okay!

 

Glad u made it ok. I would've done same, driving like it was going to fall out. I figured u would be fine long as u were careful about it. Long as u don't drive it like I normally do, like I stole it. Trucks can do truck things, nothing wrong with that, long as people are smart about it. I didn't know if u had experience or not, so was just trying to help u avoid driving it like normal and causing an issue. I too have done some pretty questionable things with my truck. I'm guessing I tow well over 10k lbs a couple times a month. But I also do it carefully like giving more stopping distance, dont smash the gas, take turns slower ect. I think that's the key, using common sense. As much as I love my truck, I gotta say, towing it's awesome, hauling weight in the bed leaves some to be desired.

 

Hi, so my low tire warning light was on this morning, but didn't have time to check it right then and there and came to work. After getting here I checked them and none seem low with the gauge, 1 was a couple pounds under the others, but nothing crazy. Going to let them cool a couple hours and check again. But my question is, there is a sensor in the spare, correct? It's probably slim but think there is a chance it could be low? Thanks..!
