My official - Storm Trooper Crew Max Build

Hey Guys,

So here is my official Crew Max Build. This is my 3rd Toyota Truck, but my first Tundra. I bought the truck slightly used from the dealership trading in my Taco. Kind of bitter sweet but all in all I am happy to be in my tundra. So now comes the Mod bug once again.

So far here is what I have done, want to do, and will eventually do.

Looks cool, do they have to remove your bumper ends to wrap them?

 

I had my buddy do it while I was out of town. From what I gather though, they dont have to, but it is highly recommended to be sure that the wrap does not peel if it does not go around the edges. Since my buddy is as OCD as me. He did remove both bumpers and ends to wrap everything.

I have been before, but not recently My job is a 24-7 job and a lot of the time with the responsibility I have it has kept me from going.

Here is the front end fully done with the chrome delete. Now I cant wait to get my Pro headlights and install those bad boys. The wrap was super difficult but well worth it and plasti dipped the middle grey insert. Came out far better than I expected.

 

You bought an $40k SR5 TRD , then made it look like a base SR ? Jk looks good.

 

I personally don't like white trucks with black grille and surround. It looks to much like a work truck. But I think yours looks pretty cool with black roof.

 

Actually, I was able to get the dealership to sell me it for 30k but yes. LOL I really didnt like the chrome on this and how it looked. Plus it blinded the crap out out of me driving in the evening against the sun in AZ. So it has helped a lot.

 

I completely understand where you are coming from. It was some decent work but it came out looking much better than I expected. I have already been getting a lot of compliments on it, so I do appreciate yours being sort of a devil's advocate!

 

Update - So I got some new 20 inch KMC Slide wheels on the rig with some Terra Grapplers to finish off the chrome delete.

 

It all comes together with the black wheels

 

I then decided that I couldnt handle the rake anymore so I leveled the front end out with a 2.5 inch Rough Country lift.

 

It all does. I know it looks a little wired with all the black, but I knew it would look good once I got the wheels changed out.

 

Got around to adding some tow mirrors...


hopefully in a few weeks Ill have my two light bars installed, Rock lights, and rear facing pods installed.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what did the tow mirrors cost you. Also, do they power fold in or is that not an option for Toyota ? Nice looking truck too.

I was able to get them used from a group member here in AZ for $200. They have some scratches (AZ pinstripping as we call it) if you are up close but can't tell from far aware. They are OEM power adjustable but not power folding.

So I finally was able to get around to installing my 41inch light bar in my hood buldge. So happy on the way in came out.

 

I also forgot I hacked my Splash Screen and screen off to keep up with the Storm Trooper Dark Side Galactic Empire Theme and added the following screens to my touch screen display.

You will want to get the Hood Buldge mounts from @sdhq_offroad - they have directions that come with them to help you install. I slightly modified the way I installed the bar because my bar was a China light bar and did not sit like the Baja designs bar.
