AC works fine. I can change temp via the knob or display.

No out of the box direct receive XM. You can use the android app just like on your phone or add an additional receiver.

I will be selling a well maintained gen1 if interested...

Can't wait for mine. Looks great. I'm order 4625 and it hasn't shipped yet. I'm getting impatient. Going on 2 months is a long time to wait, and I'm not a patient person. o_O

2 month wait is crazy lol I am have just been creeping on this thread... waiting for everyone to get theirs and hopefully clear up the backorders lol i want this headunit but in 2 months I'll go mad waiting lol but for the most part it seems the kinks have been ironed out and from the comments I have seen everyone seems to be pleased with the gen2. I'll be pulling the trigger soon

Way back on page 26 phoenix asked me to send my HVAC unit to the engineer to try and figure out the issue with the incorrect temp readings on the first gen .I figured I was never gonna see it again well iy arrived today though it looked like they took their frustrations out on it a bit.they never did figure out a fix for the first gen but I still like it over the newer ones

    None to date but coming!
I just spoke to Phoenix Radios and there is no dedicated sub output on any of the units. The wire on the Gen 1 was strictly for a remote turn on.

Take your time. Start with the truck's harness then find the white connectors that match. Then once you have found a place for each connector then you can plug in the other ends (black connectors) into the HU. Don't forget about the radio plug and the backup camera connector.
If you have problems you can call Phoenix. I had to call them about the USB and the "advanced" password. They were very helpfull.
If you do call them make sure you have Google Duo on your android phone so you can video chat. Then you can show them the connector in question. Showing them the connector really cut down on the time.

    Good Luck.

Finished the install. I think the wiring is correct. All of the truck harnesses are connected except one I believe (a brown square one). I’ll have to tear it down again tomorrow to verify. I only used the ports circled in green below. The red ones didn’t have anything connected to them : radio, gps puck that came with the radio, backup camera and the three larger black connections. The six smaller black connections are empty. Couple of questions: where do I plug the external usb connectors in the back of the unit? Where do I plug the front camera in if there is only one slot for the rear camera?

    .... more things:

The Waze app and the other navigation app (not the default one) will not connect to the internet. All other apps connect to my phone hotspot just fine.

The heater/ac controls are not working properly. There are no seat fan controls at all, unless I am blind. If they are there I will edit this to reflect.

As far as the heater/ac controls: if I turn the fan speed up or down it changes the temp. The temp controls also change the temp. But the ac is on at 89 and 84 degrees, and the heater comes on at everything else. If you change it from the front facing vent to the window it turns off, if you change it to the floor the heater comes on no matter what temp. These are the only consistent things I have found, all other settings or changes seem to be completely random with the heater/ac.

I tried calling Phoenix a few times on the number they list on their website but nobody answered. I’ll try again tomorrow. Hopefully it’s just an update. If not, as much as I would love for this thing to work I will have to send it back and get a refund.

Just finished the install on mine a few minutes ago. Everything worked great. Auto AC seat warmers and coolers. Ran into a little issue with the sound and the JBL amp. Only issue I really have right now is my headlights/fogs use to say on when I got out of the truck then shut them selfs off. Now when I open the door they go off right away. Only on the drivers side door. If anyone knows a Fix for that please let me know. Other then that so far so good.

@dud13 I had the same problem when I first started. Heres how I fixed it. Click on the gear icon. Go to the advance settings and scroll down a bit. You will see somthing that say highlander 14-15 I think (sorry doing it from memory) You have to change it to highlander 14-15 autoac and then save and restart at the bottom. That should fix your issue. If you cant find it Ill go out to the truck and check for you

My “advanced” password is not 7890 so I can’t access those settings.

Edit: Advanced password is 666888. It would only let me enter 4 digits earlier. Changed the setting to the highlander auto ac. No joy. Settings are still jacked.

Ok. Just spent a bit of time on the phone with Phoenix. The AC issue has been fixed and works great now. The problem was in the advanced settings, you need to make sure the vehicle type (at the very top) says Tundra Hi and not Tundra Low. If you do need to change it make sure to hit reset after saving that setting. As soon as it reboots everything will work. Seat fans, AC. The whole 9

the usb connector (for external storage, or when you upgrade os) goes in one of the six connectors. there are two that have 8 pins and it could be either one of those. he said to go ahead and try each. it shouldn't damage the device if you plug in the wrong one. ill update here as soon as i get it figured out.

he mentioned the front camera and a "front rear anytime camera wires" but im half deaf and the connection wasn't that good. im hoping that someone here will know.

More info on wiring connections. Still don’t know what the other 5 smaller connections are next to the USB one. Maybe for the TV tuner? Front / side camera? Some of the other accessories listed on their website?

The first picture is very useful knowing what plugs to use in the back of the HU. However, I'm not sure what you are indicating with the second pic. Is the second pic of wire from the "Truck" that are not used or extra wires that came with the radio that are not used? Can you please clarify the second pic? Thanks!

Sorry. The satellite radio antenna connection comes from the truck and is not used. The other connections come in the wiring bundle with the radio. All the others in the bundle are used, these are the leftovers that are not used.

does anyone know if the UI is customizable? i see pictures like this and can't find anyway to add a calendar, large clock, pictures below thing like that.

Also, if anyone knows how to hook up the front camera, there are a few of us that would like to know as well. Thanks in advance!
