Very weird problem with brakes

To make the long story short after plugging in my scanner to reset check engine code all the lights on my dashboard that have to do with brakes (brake, abs, traction control and vsc light) are on. Vsc is flashing. I checked the fuses under the hood for abs but those are fine. My question is is there like a brake module that controls all of that that may have burned up or are there separate modules that control different things? and it's not like only the lights are on. Abs doesn't work traction doesn't work. If someone can steer me in the right direction or possibly had this issue plz help. thank you in advance

Oh someone stole my gas cap and I was driving without it for some time so my check engine light went on. When I finally replaced it I tried deleting my code and that's when it happen

 

And let me add on to this. Who ever owned the truck before me they were running power from traction control switch to a separate switch which controlled all the LED lights around the truck and in the bed. Is it possible that when I was looking for the obd port I may have shorted something out?

 

Hmm, well if you've got a flashing light you've probably still got a code. If you can tell me the code I could give you some more detailed information.

 

Also, need to know the year model, cab style and engine of your tundra.

 

No check engine light or any engine codes what so ever. Like I said vsc off is blinking and brake abs and traction control are constantly on. Manufactured in June on 07 5.7L twin cab

 

I checked abs fuses under the hood. Those are ok. Is there a fusable link somewhere? A module that controls all that?

 

If you just put on the new fuel cap drive it for a while,I believe the lights are on because the other cap was off,has something to do with evap system. Lights should go out after driving a bit, let us know.

 

But the lights have nothing to do with check engine. They all turned on the second I plugged in my scanner to check y I have cel. Cel has been taken care of.

 

If the abs light is on you have a fault. Most scanners can't go that deep into ecm.

You need to get a scanner(does abs) or have a shop that can pull the code. If anything you might have a bad wheel sensor for the abs going out.

 

could be a strange coincidence but when i first plugged in my ultra gauge my abs lights came on until I restarted the truck a couple times dont know if something with the obd2 port can trigger it

 

For the ultra gauge I believe you had to depin one of the pins to keep abs light from coming on.. I read that somewhere. I believe.

I tried disconnecting the battery to restart all the modules. As soon as I hook the battery back again all the lights on my dash come back. And it's not like it's just a dash problem. Abs doesn't work traction doesn't work. That's why I'm asking is there a single device/module/computer that controls all that shit that may have go bad when I hooked up my scanner or maybe my scanner created a short somewhere in the harness and blew a stupid fuse that I don't know about. Like I said In my introduction post. Im a diesel mechanic and I've dealt with problems just like this, where abs, traction control goes off and there is a module 99% of the time that controls all of it.

 

I don't want to just make the lights go off on my dash. I want this problem fixed the right way that's why I turn to you guys who have way more experience with these trucks

 

Try to get your hands on a scanner that can read the ABS system.

 

i tried bro. I have programs on my laptop for any air brake system imaginable but it's all J1939 for big commercial and heavy duty trucks. I can't find a scanner with obd2 port that can scan brake systems. Where don't even look?

 

Might be the VSC switch itself, here's an inspection procedure.

 

My scanner does ABS, I'll check in the morning the brand name.

 

What exactly is vsc? I know it's a dumb question proly but I'm still trying to figure this truck out

Ah, here's what I was looking for. An exhaustive inspection procedure for the VSC light stuck on.

Techstream software which is Toyota software will do it. It's what the dealer's use... it's pricey tho.

You did check the fuses in the dash correct?
