Has anyone done a bed cut system on a CM? I’m currently in the process. Just wanted verification as to if I’m one of the first or not. People on my IG are saying that I am. Thoughts? Umm yeah you're definitely the first. You cut a hole in your cab and bed for some subs? You lose the rear window roll down and almost all of the bed space, and a ton of resale. To each their own but this definitely is not for me. Is this a audio show truck?

Yes I cut a hole in the cab. The rear-window feature is a nice touch but I never really used it. The truck is paid for and I don’t plan on getting rid of it. It’s my daily.

Wowza. What amp are you using?

Better yet, you got a parts list for the build?

Thanks man! Just trying to be different. Got tired of shallow subs behind the seats. I got kids, so I couldn’t just take them out.

Lol, let me finish the build and I will share insight to the spec sheet. I’m going to use a Sound Digital 8800.1 amplifier.

What will you use to line the wood on the box where its exposed to weather? Like between the cab and bed? I assume you'll have a cap or tonneau? Would bedliner work for something like this (wood)? And how about weatherproofing / exhaust fume proofing the holes cut? Rubber seals so you can remove it easily or silicone?

I have always wanted to do this...but I can't unless I get a second ride. I need my cab and bed to flex and not worry about anything in-between when off roading for fishing and hunting. This is probably a first, or at least the few first to do this. Can't wait to see final project

The box will be bedlined just as the bed for weather. Between the cab and bed an industrial lining to prevent water from gettin in the cab. I have a tonneau currently. Depending on the sound output, I may go hardtop. It will be fully weatherproof my man and easily removable.

Doesn't the bed flex independently of the cab causing the enclosure to move? Anyway, kudos for the ambitious project and looking forward to seeing the completed build.

Right on. My truck is lowered. The off-road life is not for me. I’m into the street scene and shows and what not. Fortunately I don’t need my bed. I’m an office junkie lol

Good thought @jewsNbrews about the cab and bed flex

The bed will have some flex which is why the hole itself was cut slightly larger than the sub box port. The lining will seal around said port.

Yeah I’ve seen that video. He used two large PVC pipes for ports right? His videos are hilarious!!! My best friend showed me that video and it inspired this build.

Thanks bro! I’ve got Quinn’s for mids and highs and they’re crystal clear. 6.5s in the doors and 4” in the dash. If it’s not enough, I’ll add more. My highs would drown out the previous 2-10” JL Audio TW3s I had. Should go well with the new speakers and box. If ever in SoCal I got you! If ever in Texas look me up!

It is MDF my man. Or Birch. My sound shop built the box.

I stand corrected. It’s like Birch. It’s 3/4 sanded ply. MDF is heavy and eventually swells. MDF is like a sponge.

Well......hmm.....I've always had this dream of building a ray-gun that could zap the electronics of the dude that pulls up next to me at a stoplight with his subs loud enough to be heard in the next county.

That said, good luck with your project.

That reminds me, back in my college days one of my cars was a Volvo station wagon.. i think it was a 760 or something like that.

anyhow, had all the windows limo tinted and in the back I had 2 15's and 2 10's
holy hell was that a wicked setup.. i'd have to shift it into neutral at the stop light and keep the rpm over 2k so the engine wouldnt die from the bass....
i do remember one time i was just subbing like crazy and i look over and see this old man foaming at the mouth yelling at me. I pause it and he's yelling at me that its too loud and yada yada.. so i just turn it back on and drive away..
    i was a dick...

I’ve never seen one on a Tundra, but lots of mini trucks and what not.

Mostly, they ported into the cab with 4-6” tube.

Cool to see your final product and how it’s all designed/finished.
