Doing a few upgrades on the truck before hunting season/the darkness of winter. Always thought the reverse lights sucked, especially when I was trying to back a trailer into the water at 3a.m while duck hunting so I decided to add some lights. [IMG]

Ended up putting two sets of LED bars on the rear. I had one set for a while and never fully installed them, messed around with them a little and couldn't get them to look just right, they were always at an angle to the bumper and I didn't care for it. Ended up seeing this second set on Facebook and was able to use a combination of the two brackets and mount them into the bumper where the little clips were. Figured since I already had the second set of lights I would try to mount them so they shined out the side a little so I could see where I was backing the trailer while turning. They just had a single mounting point so I mounted them on the side of the trailer hitch. Haven't had a chance to see how much they shine out the side yet. I'm curious to see how much light is going to be blocked by the side bumper and how much useable light actually makes it out. I wired them all to the battery and have them hooked up to a wireless remote so I can turn them on and off when I want. I'll update when I have a chance to take some pictures with the light output to see how much difference they make. So far I just turned them on in my garage and they lit up my driveway pretty well and lit up my neighbor's house across the street. In the next week or two I'll be getting some Nitto Ridge Grapplers as well. And yes after looking at the first picture I had to go out and clean up my garage a little.

A few of us here have done the same but not the additional pair facing sideways which is cool. It's a great setup. Good idea with the side facing ones.

Looks like I am going to have to check my connections. One of my side lights isn't coming on now. Was working fine earlier, may have knocked it loosed when I taped it all up. The back lights look good and the side light on the other side that you can't see it working well. I will take a look at it this week when I have more time. [IMG]

I ordered another pair of lights today off Amazon. I really like the idea of side angled lights!

With as cheap as these lights were there's no reason not to.

I get mine for just under $13 a pair with A Prime delivery. Plenty of light output.

Those are the ones that I have set up for the side lights. For the rear facing ones I used, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR0PO1D/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which is a combination of spot and flood light and I felt like it tucked it up just a little closer to the bumper.

I'm hoping they'll light up the swamp at 3 a.m. when I'm trying to back up the duck boat or the woods when trying to back up the UTV trailer in the dark. Got tired of having to have someone hold a spotlight so we could see where we were going. My reverse lights really seem like they are week.

Your new lights should work just fine I'm thinking.

Turned them on on the way to work today on a backroad and they lit up a good 100 yards behind me. Had to redo my connections on the side lights, but those are both working now too. I'll see how they do tomorrow.

How did you do the wiring? Keep in mind im sort of an electric dummy. I would rather mind on a toggle switch on the dash but curious on how the renote works. Seriously thinning of ordering the set up like yours for the trailer purpose

I ran the wires up to battery, put them inside of a wire loom and ziptied them up. This is the remote I bought. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EXKUP5C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It actually comes with the control module and the remote as you can see here. http://www.anzousa.com/universal-4-channel-remote-control-module.html very simple, you just hook it up to the battery and then the wires from the lights go right into the module. Used some double sided tape to stick it to the side of the engine compartment. It has the ability to run 4 different things off of the module. I plan to put a light bar up front, and maybe some more bed lights in that I will run off of it.
