Hey everyone so I have been extremely happy with my Huskyliners weatherbeaters my only issue and I’m looking for solutions or info if I am installing correctly is the passenger side mat. It comes with a hole in the front of the mat and a “screw” of some sort that you are suppose to screw into the carpet. I spoke to customer service and they said the screw “grabs the carpet fibers and holds the mat in place”. Well I went for it but like I thought it was bs so the only issue with the mat is the passenger side slides around. Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions? Or just deal with it?

    Thanks
    Blake

I just installed my husky mats yesterday. I used a plan screw driver and had to use a decent amount of pressure to get the mat carpet fastener to grab into the carpet. It worked fine for me so far. If mine slides around, I may look into installing Velcro to the mat. Then the mat will grab into the carpet fibers even more.

That little round handle pops off (unscrews? I’m not near my truck) and there’s a nub underneath with a flathead slot you can torque the screw in the carpet better using a screwdriver. Did you try that?

My “carpet screw” already came together as one piece I noted they were separate pieces on the installation instructions but I can’t seem to get mine to separate. Afraid I may break it.

The top plastic does unscrew from the bottom carpet tap.

My piece came assembled this way I can’t pull or unscrew it if they do separate you would never know based off how mine came in the box.

Well I got the carpet screw apart. Used a screwdriver like instructed still not a great grip on the floor but much better. Thanks

You could also move the spot and make a clean hole first with a sharp spike. If you tried by hand several times, the existing hole might be shredded a bit without a clean edge for the screw to get under.

Or, if your passenger likes to dance and push on the mat, and over time the whole thing keeps coming off, skip it and thread the nub from underneath the mat before you connect the handle so it’s always on, let the mat float. I might go to that next if it comes off again.
