I have only had it a week and it’s working... I know lots of other people have used it without issues.

Very easy... There are about 16 small screws holding the cover on... then 6 screws holding the center part on.. Cut the plastic off the back with a razor knife and tape or superglue charger on.. then just reinstall everything... Took me about 30 minuets.

Man, I’ve really wanted to do this, but I love Apple Car Play, so it’s always hooked up anyway.

Just curious how these are being powered, not sure how to enable 7.5W fast charging on an iPhone in a vehicle.

Cool, I already have 2 of those. Any idea the difference in speed using a lightning cable directly wired to that, vs wireless with a Chiotech 3 coil wired to same?

I keep seeing this hack come up but not sure if at the expense of speed.

Wireless is a little slower but not much.

Is there a link to a how to thread for this mod or a thread with more info?

I’ve been thinking about trying this and then BAM!
I see others have already done it.

If you have Facebook look up All out Tundras or Tundra Crew and search "Wireless Charger" lots of info on there.. I posted mine on there last month and there are lots of other people that commented also on ways they did it.

I just installed the same one as @offshore2005 did. Seems to work fine with my galaxy s9+ and a thin spigen case.

    Heres some install pix:

My iphone plugged into the 12v outlet charges faster than when plugged into 110v at the home.

Update: I did the DIY wireless charger mod under the center console, had it for a while now but don’t use it much because I have an iPhone and it’s slow at 7.5W.

I prefer speed on short commutes and my phone is on a vent mount anyway, so I use an 18W Aukey cigar charger and USB-C to lightning cable.

    See charging times:
