I installed their 8" system yesterday morning. Pretty much exactly as described. Took me 1:45 alone from time I set foot outdoors to finished job.

The only two things that tripped me up a bit...

    1) My hole saw was not nearly stout enough to cut the pipe. Neither was my second. Shredded the teeth on both. Not a big deal - I used an angle grinder and that did the job pretty quickly. Cleaned up the lines with a dremel. On the plus side, the tail pipe is a lot more stout than it looks or feels.

    2) The new gasket sent was a really tight fit - had a hard time getting it on properly.

Besides that - one of the easier jobs you can do at home and it sounds incredible with absolutely no drone. It was 5X easier than the last exhaust job I did on an e46 M3. Replacing section 2 and 3 on that car wasn't "hard," but it was not a quick morning job either.

If you are thinking about getting one of these systems - don't think about it and just do it - high reward job!

Take any pics/videos of the install while you were doing it?

Yeah our stock tail pipe is stainless steel. A new hole saw with lube is what is needed. Also drill at a slow speed. Hear burns out bits.

I used oil on it, tried various speeds. I burned through a couple crappy hole saws. I'm guessing it needs to be carbide tipped to really work. No matter - in the instruction video they use a plasma cutter. For a brief moment I thought this would be my excuse to get one... but then I came back to reality. An angle grinder is just a poor-mans plasma cutter IMHO!

I just installed the 6" on mine. I used a friends lift at his garage and it took me an hour and ten minutes. Only trip up I had was the new gasket as well, it was a very tight fit. I didn't have any trouble with the hole saw. I put it on the dewalt drill and after marking the spot I held it wide open and it cut through it like a hot knife through butter. I also cut the hole with the exhaust installed. I did not pull the tailpipe back off after I installed it and got it set on the new gasket. There was plenty of room to fit the drill with hole saw in there between the pipe and spare tire. So a plasma cutter is not needed to do it with the system installed and if you have a small drill you can drill it right after marking the spot for the resonator. The 6" was exactly what I wanted and no drone at all at any speed. You can hear it inside the truck a bit on acceleration but at highway speeds it sounds stock.

What kind of a bit was the hole saw? I installed without the gasket first then took it apart, then put gasket on during re-install. It would have been nice to leave it in, but it was pretty easy to pop it completely out.

Picked it up at Home Depot on my way to his shop. It was a Milwaukee Hole Dozer with Arbor. When I say it went through the pipe fast I mean really fast. Took longer to get a little dimple in the pipe to start the bit then punching the hole.

Mine's been on for about 6 months now...and I still get a grin from ear to ear when I hit the gas pedal!

Im just curious...what is the wait time on these systems?... I live in coastal NC, which is a looonngg way from CA. I'd like to get a 6" system, as i have read great things about em, but i have a problem called impatience. Buying something and having to wait a few months to get it is not really ideal, but im really wanting this system....:notsure:

It's a great system, my only complain is that it sounds stock on normal driving.
You really have to get on it, if you want to hear it.
I had t for about 2yrs and switched it out.

I'm in Louisiana and it took about 12 days but I ordered right as he started a production run. I think he takes orders and when he has quite a few then they build them out and ship. It's worth the wait.

My 6" sounds great just taking off at a quarter throttle, good deep rumble. At half it really gets to talking and full it's yelling at you. Highway speeds are stock sounding but I don't care for any sound at cruising speeds. Loud is relative for different people though.

I guess it was just time for something different.
After two years, I wanted a change.
My buddy has the 6 inch, and I wanted it louder but no low end torque loss or drone.

I ordered a standard budget system July 24th and I'm patiently waiting. Keith said the normal lead time is 30 days but they usually ship sooner.

Hey man! I'm debating on the 8" or the 10". Does the 8" sound better than the stock exhaust? How is it on the highway? Is the sound deep? Thank you for your help!

8" is pretty quiet on the highway unless you get on it. Most people get the 10" if they tow as the 8 might be unbearable. Definitely sounds better than stock.

Have any of you guys seen any performance inprovements.... power, mpg, lower engine temps? Noise is just.....well, NOISE..... I don't see the point unless there is a quantifiable gains to be had. I've been tossing around the idea of a "performance" exhaust but want real world results.

It is definitely louder than stock - very deep sound. Not bad on the highway at all. If you want something louder than stock without being too noticeable, the 8" is the one. Much quieter than my Borla was on another car, and my wife didn't really notice it when I put it on...

I did - easy job. There is nothing really tricky about this at all except getting the gasket on properly IMHO.

yea, looks simple, was just curious from a room standpoint. I'm about a 3.5" lift and figured that should be enough room to do it on the ground

Plenty - I'm not lifted at all. I didn't even bother to put it on the ramps.

you do realize that if Ferrari really wanted to they could baffle and dampen their exhaust systems enough to make the 458 italia sound like a prius... there is a very good reason they've spent millions refining the sound their exhaust produces... FUN.
most of us are fortunate to be given 5 senses in life and the idea is to excite as many as we can to maximize the experience. until you're open minded enough to understand that not everything has to produce "quantifiable" gains in power you're just going to continue to miss out.
