Hello all. Ever since my new 35-inch tires and 22 inch fuel rims were installed my tire pressure monitoring system has been not working. When you look at the on dash computer it appears as though there is no system installed at all. The place that install the tires can't seem to figure it out nor can the dealership. Anyone with this experience or thoughts?

Did you get new sensors with your rims, if so you will need to have Toyota set the system to pick up the sensors.

I had assumed they were moved from the OEM wheels, I think the issue is that the dealership didn't re-register them. It's as if the truck doesn't even recognize they are there.
I have the service manager supposed to call me about it.

The sensors for the steel wheels are different from the ones for aluminum due to the different angles. If the dealership reused the sensors and flipped them, then you should be able to use the reset button. If new sensors were put in, then the dealership will need to register the new sensor IDs in the ECU before it can be read.

Not trying to thread jack but if I got aftermarket tpms with new wheels, do I have to take it to dealership to register or can any tire shop do it?

Not all tire shops can program them into Toyota’s ecu. Most likely a dealership thing. Some guys here have been able to get a hold of techstream software to do this themselves. I tried but couldn’t get the software to work.

Some tire shops know how to program and some don’t. The dealer isn’t mandatory unless you don’t wanna deal with the bullshit of finding a shop that can do it. My experience was one Discount tire knew how and another didn’t...

Has anyone been able to purchase TPMS aftermarket sensors that are compatible with Toyota Tundra?..just purchased new fuel assault rim package from custom wheels, they were able to program the sensors but they are not sending signal to truck, dealer advise me to purchase new Oem sensors which I did but now sensors were to thick to fit the rim, I am back to square one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks! 2020 Toyota Tundra 1794.

Did you get this figured out? I have 20” Fuel Assault wheels and need to replace the sensors. I’d rather not pay the tire shop a premium for their sensors, and instead simply pay them to install. Recommendations on sensors that will work with the Tundra and the Fuel Assault wheels?
